As a key member of the refinery engineering team, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing plant assets throughout their lifecycle while collaborating closely with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to resolve technical challenges and drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Your role will encompass a broad spectrum of technical and analytical duties, including:

• Technical Problem-Solving and Support: Provide timely and accurate engineering solutions to address operational abnormalities, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal asset performance. Offer critical support to Operations and Maintenance (OME) teams during maintenance activities, shutdowns, or emergency situations.
• Design and Modification Evaluation: Conduct thorough evaluations of equipment and systems, preparing design modifications and design packages in compliance with the Change Management System (CMS) and project management guidelines. Perform detailed design calculations and assessments to support in-house modifications and Management of Change (MOC) processes.
• Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis: Actively participate in troubleshooting sessions to diagnose equipment failures, system malfunctions, and process abnormalities. Collaborate with technicians, engineers, and reliability teams to identify root causes and propose actionable recommendations to prevent future incidents.
• Performance Optimization: Regularly visit the plant to engage with OME teams, addressing operational issues and proposing upgrades or maintenance strategies to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
• Risk Assessment and Compliance: Assess and manage risks associated with plant assets, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, YASREF standards, and environmental requirements. Implement risk mitigation protocols and conduct regular risk assessments to safeguard operational integrity.
• Continuous Improvement and Knowledge Management: Stay updated with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes. Document lessons learned, contribute to the development of engineering standards, and participate in professional development activities to foster a culture of innovation.
• Technical Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and update technical documents, including engineering studies, work instructions, guidelines, and failure reports. Support the development of preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, ensuring alignment with YASREF’s asset management objectives.
• Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Leadership: Uphold stringent safety and environmental policies, actively participating in HSE initiatives such as incident reporting, safety suggestions, and compliance activities. Promote a proactive safety culture across all operational levels.
• Emergency Response and Support: Provide critical technical assistance during planned and emergency shutdowns, disasters, or operational emergencies. Evaluate failure reports and incident documentation to offer engineering recommendations for future resilience.
• Strategic Contribution: Collaborate on the development and enhancement of engineering designs, studies, and technical documentation to support long-term business priorities, including cost reduction, reliability improvement, and continuous process optimization.
