Contracts Engineer – Drive Strategic Agreements at WSP in Jeddah

Join WSP, a global leader in professional consulting and engineering services, as a **Contracts Engineer** in Jeddah. In this pivotal role, you will play a critical part in shaping and managing complex contracts that underpin our projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and client expectations. This position offers a dynamic opportunity to leverage your technical expertise in contract development, negotiation, and execution while contributing to high-impact infrastructure and development initiatives across Saudi Arabia and beyond.

As a **Contracts Engineer**, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including legal, procurement, project management, and client stakeholders—to deliver seamless contract lifecycle management. Your role spans from drafting and reviewing agreements to monitoring compliance, risk mitigation, and performance assurance. With a focus on precision and strategic foresight, you will ensure that every contract reflects WSP’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and sustainable growth.

This is more than a job; it’s a chance to make a tangible difference in shaping the future of infrastructure and development in the region. If you thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and are passionate about turning complex challenges into structured, high-value solutions, we invite you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contract Development and Review: Draft, negotiate, and finalize contracts for engineering, construction, and consulting projects, ensuring clarity, fairness, and alignment with WSP’s standards and client needs.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Monitor contract performance to ensure adherence to legal, technical, and financial obligations, identifying and mitigating risks proactively.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (legal, procurement, project delivery) and external partners (clients, vendors, regulators) to align contract terms with project goals and operational realities.
  • Contract Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire contract lifecycle—from inception to closure—ensuring documentation, updates, and compliance are maintained throughout.
  • Technical Expertise: Leverage your engineering background to interpret technical specifications, assess feasibility, and contribute to contract terms that balance risk and opportunity.
  • Regulatory and Industry Knowledge: Stay abreast of local and international regulations, industry best practices, and market trends to inform contract strategies and recommendations.

Why This Role Matters:

At WSP, we believe that exceptional contracts are the foundation of successful projects. As a Contracts Engineer, you will not only safeguard our financial and operational interests but also empower our teams to deliver projects that drive economic and social progress. Your work will directly impact the quality, safety, and sustainability of infrastructure projects, leaving a lasting legacy in the communities we serve.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Law, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., PMP, CCP, or contract management certifications) are a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in contract management, engineering contracts, or procurement, preferably in the infrastructure, construction, or consulting sectors.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of contract clauses, legal principles, and industry-standard agreements (e.g., FIDIC, EPC, or custom project-specific contracts).
  • Analytical and Negotiation Skills: Ability to analyze complex contractual terms, anticipate challenges, and negotiate effectively to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Communication and Leadership: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate technical and legal concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders. Leadership experience in managing contract-related initiatives is highly valued.
  • Regional Advantage: Familiarity with Saudi Arabian contract laws, regulatory frameworks, and industry practices is an asset.
  • Technical Tools: Proficiency in contract management software (e.g., Icertis, Coupa) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with project management tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Project) is a bonus.

What We Offer:

WSP provides a dynamic and rewarding work environment where your expertise will be valued and your contributions will make a real impact. Join a global team that is committed to excellence, innovation, and sustainable development. Benefits include:

  • Competitive compensation and performance-based bonuses.
  • Opportunities for professional development, training, and certifications.
  • A collaborative and inclusive culture that fosters creativity and growth.
