In this full-time position within our Software team, you will collaborate closely with engineers and cross-functional stakeholders to uncover critical insights into model behavior under diverse operational conditions. What You Will Do

As an ML Research Scientist, your responsibilities will include:

• Designing and executing empirical experiments on real-world fleets of AI models, rather than relying on synthetic or theoretical proxies. You will measure and analyze the tangible impact of co-location, quantization, adapter serving, and mixed-precision execution on model performance and efficiency.
• Translating findings into actionable decisions by working closely with our engineering team to implement improvements in the orchestration layer. Your research will directly inform product strategy, ensuring that our platform remains at the forefront of AI innovation.
• Publishing rigorous, internally vetted research with the same level of scrutiny as external publications. You will document methodologies, data, limitations, and conclusions with transparency and precision, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous learning.
• Staying ahead of the literature by critically evaluating claims in the field, distinguishing between proven advancements and speculative hypotheses. Your ability to separate signal from noise will be instrumental in guiding our team’s research priorities.

What You Bring to the Table

We are looking for a candidate with:

• A doctorate or equivalent research experience in machine learning, systems, or a closely related quantitative discipline. Your academic or industry background should demonstrate a deep understanding of AI fundamentals and a track record of solving complex problems.
• Hands-on experience running end-to-end experiments, including the often-overlooked but critical aspects of instrumentation, data collection, and analysis. You thrive in environments where theory meets practical implementation.
• Proficiency in Python and the ability to read, modify, and optimize model and serving code. Familiarity with frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar tools is a significant advantage.
• A disciplined approach to research, characterized by honesty, transparency, and a commitment to identifying limitations before they are exposed by others. You understand that rigorous research requires both curiosity and humility.

Nice-to-haves (but not required):

• Published work in areas such as model efficiency, quantization, serving architectures, or systems for machine learning.
• Experience with advanced techniques like adapter methods, knowledge distillation, or mixture-of-experts serving.
