Key Responsibilities

The Senior Planning Engineer will be responsible for the comprehensive planning, scheduling, and monitoring of major construction projects. Your core duties will include:

• Schedule Development and Management: Create, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, ensuring alignment with project milestones, contractual obligations, and company standards.
• Progress Monitoring and Control: Continuously track project progress through look-ahead plans, recovery strategies, and performance forecasts to identify deviations and implement corrective actions promptly.
• Risk and Delay Analysis: Conduct thorough schedule risk assessments to anticipate potential delays and proactively develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate closely with project managers, site teams, consultants, contractors, and clients to ensure seamless communication, alignment, and execution of planning activities.
• Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and present periodic planning reports, dashboards, and executive summaries that provide clear insights into project status, trends, and critical decision points.
• Resource and Budget Oversight: Monitor resource allocation, productivity trends, and budget performance to support informed decision-making and maintain project financial integrity.
• Compliance and Standards: Ensure all planning processes adhere to project-specific requirements, industry best practices, and ISO-certified organizational standards.
• Milestone Tracking: Oversee the achievement of key project milestones and provide data-driven recommendations to support timely and effective project delivery.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you must meet the following criteria:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field from a recognized institution.
• Experience: Minimum of 15 years of relevant professional experience, including at least 10 years as a Planning Lead or Senior Planning Engineer within a contracting company.
• Regional Expertise: Demonstrated experience in project planning and execution within the Arabian Gulf region, with a minimum of 8 years in this capacity.
• Project Scale: Proven track record in managing major capital projects valued at QAR 100 million or above, with a focus on complex and high-impact developments.
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced expertise in Primavera P6 for schedule management, along with a strong understanding of project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and reporting methodologies.
• Certifications and Standards: Experience working within ISO-certified organizations and familiarity with international project management standards.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical abilities, strong communication skills, and the capacity to coordinate effectively across multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Language Proficiency: High-level fluency in both written and spoken English is essential for clear documentation and stakeholder engagement.
