Lead Site Manager – EHV Substation project

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Site Manager to oversee the execution of a critical EHV (Extra High Voltage) Substation project in Jeddah. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful delivery of the project, adhering to stringent safety, quality, and timeline standards. The Lead Site Manager will be responsible for coordinating all site activities, managing stakeholders, and driving operational excellence throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities

• Project Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the site team, ensuring alignment with project objectives, company policies, and industry best practices. Oversee daily operations to maintain efficiency, productivity, and adherence to project milestones.
• Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, regulatory authorities, and internal teams. Facilitate clear communication, resolve conflicts, and ensure all parties are aligned to achieve project goals.
• Safety and Compliance: Enforce rigorous safety protocols and compliance with local and international regulations. Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and training sessions to mitigate hazards and ensure a secure working environment for all personnel.
• Quality Assurance: Implement and monitor quality control measures to guarantee that all project deliverables meet or exceed industry standards. Collaborate with engineering teams to address technical challenges and validate compliance with specifications.
• Resource Management: Optimize the allocation of manpower, equipment, and materials to maximize productivity and minimize downtime. Monitor resource utilization and adjust strategies as needed to maintain project momentum.
• Budget and Schedule Control: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective execution without compromising quality. Track progress against timelines, identify potential delays, and implement corrective actions to keep the project on schedule.
• Technical Oversight: Collaborate with technical teams to review engineering designs, construction methodologies, and installation procedures. Provide guidance on complex technical issues and ensure seamless integration of systems and components.
• Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and present detailed progress reports, risk assessments, and performance metrics to senior management and stakeholders. Maintain accurate records of project activities, changes, and outcomes for audit and reference purposes.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., PMP, CEng) is highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in site management, preferably within the power transmission and distribution sector. Prior involvement in EHV substation projects is essential.
• Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of EHV substation construction, commissioning, and maintenance. Proficiency in project management software, CAD tools, and industry-specific standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE).
• Leadership and Soft Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage conflicts, and foster a collaborative work environment. Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills are critical.
• Certifications: Valid safety certifications (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH) and familiarity with local regulatory requirements in Saudi Arabia are advantageous.
