Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Finance & Accounting to lead the financial operations of our property in Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah, Saudi Arabia. This pivotal role will serve as the primary financial strategist, driving the development and execution of property-wide financial initiatives that align with the brand’s objectives and deliver exceptional value to stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

The Director of Finance & Accounting will be responsible for shaping the financial future of the property through the following core activities:

• Strategic Financial Leadership:
  • Develop and implement financial strategies that enhance profitability, optimize cost structures, and identify new business opportunities.
  • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, including forecasting sales against expenses, to create and monitor annual budget plans.
  • Analyze variances between actual and projected financial performance to refine budgeting processes and improve efficiency.
  • Lead the creation of an annual operating budget that aligns with the property’s and brand’s strategic goals.
  • Provide analytical support during budget reviews to uncover cost-saving opportunities and productivity enhancements for property managers.
• Financial Controls and Risk Management:
  • Establish and maintain robust accounting and operational controls to safeguard assets, enhance operational efficiency, and maximize profitability.
  • Implement risk management frameworks to mitigate financial and operational risks.
  • Analyze financial data and market trends to inform strategic decision-making and drive business growth.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies through rigorous audit processes.
• Team Leadership and Development:
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire the finance and accounting team to achieve operational and financial excellence.
  • Communicate strategic goals, priorities, and owner expectations clearly and effectively to subordinates and cross-functional teams.
  • Leverage strong leadership and communication skills to influence executive decision-making and align financial strategies with property objectives.
  • Conduct annual performance appraisals for direct reports, ensuring accountability and professional growth.
  • Oversee internal, external, and regulatory audits to ensure accuracy, transparency, and compliance.
• Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
  • Collaborate with property owners, corporate leadership, and key stakeholders to understand priorities and align financial strategies accordingly.
  • Advise the General Manager and executive committee on financial and operational issues, providing clear, data-driven insights.
  • Translate complex financial concepts into accessible, actionable information to drive desired behaviors and outcomes.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of cash flow dynamics and owner priorities to ensure financial stability and growth.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following educational and professional requirements:

• Education:
  • A 4-year bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, coupled with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in finance and accounting.
  • Alternatively, a master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field with no prior work experience required.
