Key Responsibilities

As a Systems Engineer, your core responsibilities will include:

• System Administration: Install, configure, and maintain enterprise-grade Windows Server and Linux operating systems to meet organizational requirements.
• Identity and Access Management: Administer and manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and other enterprise identity services to ensure secure and efficient access control.
• Virtualization Management: Oversee and optimize virtualization platforms, including VMware and Hyper-V, to maximize resource utilization and system performance.
• Performance Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Proactively monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and execute timely troubleshooting to minimize downtime and maintain operational continuity.
• Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Design, implement, and maintain robust backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions to safeguard critical data and ensure rapid system restoration in the event of an incident.
• System Maintenance and Security: Conduct regular system upgrades, apply critical patches, and enforce security hardening measures to protect against vulnerabilities and cyber threats.
• Automation and Scripting: Develop and deploy automation scripts using PowerShell or Bash to streamline routine administrative tasks, enhance efficiency, and reduce human error.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with network, security, and application teams to provide comprehensive support for enterprise infrastructure, fostering a collaborative and solution-oriented environment.
• Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate technical documentation for systems and infrastructure, ensuring clarity and accessibility for all stakeholders.

Requirements

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a Systems Engineer or Infrastructure Engineer, with a proven track record in managing enterprise-level systems.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong expertise in Windows Server and Linux administration, including configuration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Directory Services and Networking: In-depth experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and File Services to support enterprise infrastructure requirements.
• Virtualization Technologies: Demonstrated experience with VMware and/or Hyper-V virtualization platforms, including setup, management, and optimization.
• Scripting and Automation: Proficiency in PowerShell or Bash scripting to automate administrative tasks and improve operational efficiency.
• Backup and Recovery: Experience with enterprise backup and recovery solutions to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting abilities, with a methodical approach to diagnosing and resolving complex system issues.
• Communication and Teamwork: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, coupled with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications

While not mandatory, candidates with the following qualifications will be highly regarded:

• Relevant Microsoft certifications such as MCSA or MCSE, or equivalent credentials.
• VMware certifications (e.g., VCP) or Red Hat certifications (e.g., RHCSA/RHCE) demonstrating advanced expertise in virtualization and Linux systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS, including migration, management, and optimization of cloud-based resources.
• Knowledge of enterprise storage solutions and monitoring tools to enhance system performance and reliability.
• Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and system hardening techniques to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with security standards.
