Cloud Solutions Architect - EMEA

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cloud Solutions Architect to join our Fortinet Cloud Security Consulting team in the EMEA region. This role will serve as a pivotal center of excellence for cloud security technologies and associated Fortinet solutions, providing expert guidance to customers across diverse industries. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in cloud security, software development, and network/application security, while demonstrating exceptional communication skills to deliver consulting services, proof of concepts, and trusted advisory to clients of all levels.

Key Responsibilities

The Cloud Solutions Architect will be responsible for the following core functions:

• Cloud Security Solution Expert:
  • Collaborate with customers to develop multi-cloud and hybrid cloud security blueprints, emphasizing vendor-neutral and cloud-agnostic design principles and implementation best practices.
  • Become a subject matter expert in Fortinet’s cloud security products and solutions, ensuring alignment with industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of competitive products and services to provide strategic insights and differentiation.
  • Respond to industry analyst inquiries, conduct technical demonstrations, and contribute to thought leadership initiatives.
• Trusted Advisor:
  • Participate in customer engagements to deliver expert opinions on cloud security design and architecture, ensuring robust and scalable solutions.
  • Develop custom architecture designs and automation code tailored to customer-specific cloud deployments and operational needs.
  • Publish reference architectures for key use cases to guide customers in implementing secure and efficient cloud solutions.
• Continuous Learner:
  • Allocate dedicated time for ongoing training and education to stay current with emerging cloud technologies, security trends, and Fortinet product advancements.
  • Lead and contribute to technical webinars, hands-on demonstrations, and workshops to enhance customer and internal team capabilities.
  • Collaborate with the NSE Training Institute to refine advanced course materials, provide constructive feedback, and support the development of cutting-edge training programs.
• Evangelist:
  • Publish authoritative content, including whitepapers, blogs, and technical articles, to share insights on salient cloud security topics and drive industry awareness.
  • Develop in-depth architecture papers that analyze and justify technology adoption decisions for customers and stakeholders.
  • Engage in continuous networking within the industry to build strategic relationships, foster collaboration, and enhance Fortinet’s reputation as a leader in cloud security.

Required Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Professional Experience: Minimum of 10 years in roles such as Solutions Engineer, Consulting Engineer, or Solution Architect within Cloud, Networking, Infrastructure, or Cybersecurity industries.
• Cloud Platform Expertise: In-depth, hands-on experience with at least two of the following public or private cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or VMware NSX.
• Software Architecture Proficiency: Strong understanding of modern software architecture principles, including CI/CD pipelines, DevOps tools (e.g., Ansible, AWS CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager), Infrastructure as Code (IaC), scalability, and API-first strategies.
• Programming Skills: Working knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, or similar, with the ability to develop automation scripts and custom solutions.
• Certifications and Security Expertise: Public cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, or Google Professional Cloud Architect) are highly desirable. Proven expertise in networking and security, with industry-recognized certifications from leading vendors, is a strong plus.
• Container and Serverless Technologies: Prior experience designing and deploying applications using containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless architectures is preferred.
• Communication and Presentation: Exceptional presentation and demonstration skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Industry Experience: Prior experience working at a cybersecurity and networking consulting firm is highly advantageous, demonstrating a track record of delivering tailored solutions to enterprise clients.
• Technical Writing and Documentation: Superior documentation and technical writing capabilities, with a focus on clarity, precision, and completeness.
• Cloud Solutions Experience: Minimum of three years of hands-on experience with cloud solutions, virtual platforms, and software development, ensuring practical insights into real-world implementations.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is required, with strong written and verbal communication skills. Comfort with public speaking and engaging in high-level discussions is essential.
