Job Overview

Parsons is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Engineer – Civil/Structural to spearhead the structural engineering design efforts for a cutting-edge stadium construction project. This pivotal role demands a deep expertise in structural engineering principles, a commitment to engineering excellence, and the ability to deliver innovative, safe, and sustainable design solutions. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines, to develop integrated and optimized design solutions that meet the highest standards of performance, safety, and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

The Lead Engineer will be responsible for the following critical tasks:

• Leadership in Structural Design: Oversee the entire structural engineering design process, from conceptual development to detailed engineering and construction documentation, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and best practices.
• Technical Oversight: Provide expert guidance and oversight to the engineering team, reviewing and approving design drawings, specifications, and calculations to ensure accuracy, safety, and efficiency.
• Collaboration and Integration: Work closely with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to develop cohesive and innovative design solutions that align with project goals and client expectations.
• Structural Analysis and Design: Conduct detailed structural analysis and design for stadium components, including foundations, superstructure, and specialized sports facility elements, optimizing solutions for safety, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
• Project Coordination: Partner with project managers to develop and maintain project schedules and budgets, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of design deliverables.
• Mentorship and Development: Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, professional growth, and technical excellence within the team.
• Client Engagement: Interface directly with clients to present design concepts, address technical inquiries, and ensure alignment with project objectives and stakeholder expectations.

Required Qualifications

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
• A minimum of 18 years of progressive experience in structural engineering, with a proven track record in large-scale projects such as stadiums, arenas, or similar structures.

Desired Qualifications

While not mandatory, the following skills and experiences are highly desirable:

• Technical Proficiency: Extensive experience with structural analysis software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD Pro) and CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
• Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Problem-Solving: Demonstrated expertise in addressing engineering challenges with a proactive and innovative approach.
