Position Overview

As the strategic financial leader for the property, this role is pivotal in driving financial excellence and operational success. The Director of Finance & Accounting serves as the primary architect of financial strategies that align with the brand’s objectives, ensuring the delivery of superior products and services to both customers and employees. This position is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive financial plans that maximize return on investment while fostering sustainable growth. By leveraging deep financial expertise, the Director will champion initiatives that enhance profitability, streamline operations, and support the property’s long-term vision.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Financial Leadership: Develop and execute financial strategies that align with the property’s and brand’s business goals, focusing on profit optimization, cost efficiency, and revenue growth. Conduct thorough financial analysis to identify trends, forecast sales, and create annual budgets that reflect operational realities.
• Budgeting and Financial Planning: Compile and analyze financial data to produce accurate forecasts, monitor actual performance against projections, and identify variances. Develop annual operating budgets and provide analytical support during reviews to uncover cost-saving opportunities and productivity enhancements. Implement robust controls to mitigate business risks and safeguard assets.
• Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and inspire the finance and accounting team by fostering a culture of accountability, integrity, and innovation. Communicate strategic goals and priorities clearly to team members and stakeholders, ensuring alignment with the property’s objectives. Oversee performance appraisals, talent development, and succession planning to build a high-performing finance function.
• Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: Serve as a trusted advisor to the General Manager and executive committee, providing insights on financial performance, operational challenges, and strategic opportunities. Collaborate with owners, corporate leadership, and external stakeholders to ensure financial transparency and alignment with their priorities. Translate complex financial concepts into actionable insights that drive informed decision-making.
• Audit and Compliance Oversight: Lead internal, external, and regulatory audit processes to ensure adherence to financial standards, policies, and best practices. Implement and maintain a strong internal control environment to enhance operational efficiency and mitigate financial risks.
• Market and Industry Analysis: Monitor industry trends, economic conditions, and competitive landscapes to inform financial strategies and operational adjustments. Provide data-driven recommendations to capitalize on emerging opportunities and navigate challenges.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must possess a strong academic foundation and professional experience in finance and accounting. The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, with a minimum of two years of relevant experience. Alternatively, a master’s degree in Finance or Accounting may be considered in lieu of professional experience. Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and strategic planning is essential, along with exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Work Environment

This position is based in the Central Area District, Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah, Saudi Arabia, and requires full-time on-site presence. The Director of Finance & Accounting will report directly to the General Manager and collaborate closely with the executive leadership team to drive the property’s financial success.
