Student Development Officer

BMC is seeking a dynamic and qualified Student Development Officer to foster the academic, personal, and professional growth of our diverse student body. This role is pivotal in creating an inclusive and supportive environment through a range of student services, counseling, developmental programming, and crisis management initiatives.

• Student Support and Counseling: Provide academic, career, and personal counseling to students, addressing a broad spectrum of concerns and guiding them towards success.
• Program Development and Management: Design, implement, and assess student-centered programs and workshops that enhance academic skills, career readiness, leadership, and personal development.
• Advising and Mentoring: Advise student organizations and activities, and establish mentorship programs connecting students with faculty, alumni, and industry professionals.
• Academic Support Coordination: Collaborate with faculty and academic departments to identify students at risk and implement support strategies, promoting academic resources such as study skills sessions and tutoring.
• Student Engagement: Foster student involvement in college activities and support student-led initiatives that align with our mission and values.
• Crisis Management: Respond to student-related crises, providing immediate support and developing strategies for early intervention and prevention.
• Policy and Compliance: Assist in developing and updating student policies and procedures, ensuring effectiveness, equity, and compliance with institutional standards.
• Communication and Collaboration: Maintain open and effective communication channels with students, faculty, and staff, and collaborate with internal departments and external organizations to expand student services.
