Mid-level MEP ESTIMATOR (MECHANICAL / ELECTRICAL) – 2 POSITIONS

Position Overview

We are seeking two highly motivated Mid-level MEP Estimators specializing in Mechanical and Electrical systems to join our dynamic team at Jobs for Humanity, based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a wide range of MEP projects, ensuring alignment with project budgets, timelines, and quality standards. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving the success of our projects while maintaining profitability and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Cost Estimation: Develop detailed and precise cost estimates for mechanical and electrical components of construction projects, including HVAC systems, plumbing, fire protection, electrical distribution, lighting, and control systems.
• Bid Preparation: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to gather necessary data, specifications, and drawings to prepare comprehensive bids for clients and subcontractors.
• Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify current pricing trends, material costs, labor rates, and supplier quotations to ensure competitive and realistic estimates.
• Risk Assessment: Evaluate project risks, including potential cost overruns, material shortages, or labor constraints, and propose mitigation strategies to safeguard project profitability.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain meticulous records of estimates, assumptions, and calculations, and prepare clear and concise reports for stakeholders, including senior management and clients.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, and contractors, to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems within project designs and execution plans.
• Software Proficiency: Utilize industry-standard estimating software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, or specialized MEP estimating tools, to enhance accuracy and efficiency in cost projections.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., Certified Professional Estimator) will be considered an advantage.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in MEP estimating, preferably within the construction or engineering sector. Experience in the Middle East, particularly Saudi Arabia, is highly desirable.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in MEP estimating software (e.g., MC2 ICE, PlanSwift, or Bluebeam) and strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, construction methodologies, and industry standards.
• Analytical Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical abilities, and the capacity to interpret complex technical drawings and specifications.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in Arabic is a plus but not mandatory.
• Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
