Key Responsibilities

As a Data Engineer in our Oil & Gas organization, your core responsibilities will include:

• Data Pipeline Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to ensure seamless data flow from multiple sources, including internal systems, sensors, and external partners, into our data warehouses and lakes.
• Data Warehouse & Lake Optimization: Build, optimize, and manage data warehouses and data lakes to support efficient storage, retrieval, and analysis of large-scale datasets, ensuring high performance and scalability.
• Data Modeling & Integrity: Develop and maintain robust data models that enhance data accuracy, consistency, and integrity, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with business analysts, data scientists, and IT teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that align with organizational goals, including reporting, analytics, and business intelligence initiatives.
• Performance Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Proactively monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and resolve data-related issues to ensure uninterrupted access to critical information and minimize downtime.
• Cloud & Big Data Technologies: Leverage modern cloud platforms such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, Snowflake, AWS, or GCP to design and deploy data solutions that meet the evolving needs of the Oil & Gas sector.
• Data Integration & Governance: Integrate data from diverse sources, including IoT devices, ERP systems, and third-party vendors, while implementing data governance frameworks to maintain security, compliance, and data quality.

Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Location: Must be currently based in Saudi Arabia with the ability to work on-site or in a hybrid capacity as required.
• Industry Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in the Oil & Gas industry, including at least 2 years as a Data Engineer, with a deep understanding of industry-specific data challenges and solutions.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong expertise in SQL and Python, along with experience in ETL processes, data warehousing, and big data technologies.
• Cloud Platforms: Proven experience working with Azure, AWS, or GCP, including tools such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, or Snowflake.
• Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional ability to analyze complex datasets, identify trends, and develop innovative solutions to enhance data-driven decision-making.
• Legal Compliance: Must hold a valid and transferable Iqama (work permit) to ensure seamless employment within Saudi Arabia.
