Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Attendant-Laundry to join our esteemed team at Sheraton Hotels & Resorts in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. In this pivotal role, you will operate and maintain laundry equipment, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and efficiency in processing guest linens, uniforms, and other textile items. Your responsibilities will encompass handling chemical additives, inspecting garments for damage or stains, and overseeing the entire laundry cycle—from washing and drying to folding and storage. This position is ideal for individuals who take pride in delivering exceptional service while adhering to strict safety and quality protocols.

Key Responsibilities

The Attendant-Laundry will perform a variety of essential duties, including:

• Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Operate washing machines, dryers, and dry-cleaning equipment, including the addition of detergents and solvents. Clean lint filters and inspect machinery for optimal performance.
• Garment Inspection & Treatment: Identify stained or damaged items, assess their condition, and determine appropriate actions—whether re-washing, stain treatment, or disposal. Ensure all textiles meet cleanliness and quality standards before redistribution.
• Process Management: Program dryers according to fabric types, remove lint and debris from filters post-cycle, and maintain accurate records of processed items. Utilize folding machines or manual techniques to prepare textiles for storage or guest use.
• Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, reporting maintenance issues, safety hazards, or incidents promptly. Complete mandatory safety training and certifications to uphold a secure work environment.
• Professional Conduct & Team Collaboration: Maintain a neat and professional appearance, including adhering to uniform standards. Foster a respectful and inclusive workplace by supporting colleagues and contributing to team goals. Protect confidential company information and assets.
• Physical Demands: Perform tasks requiring prolonged standing, walking, or sitting. Handle repetitive motions such as bending, reaching, and lifting items up to 25 pounds (11.25 kg). Navigate confined spaces, uneven surfaces, or staircases as needed to fulfill operational duties.

Qualifications & Requirements

To excel in this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:

• Education: No formal secondary education or GED equivalent is required.
• Experience: Prior experience in laundry operations is not mandatory; on-the-job training will be provided.
• Certifications: No specific licenses or certifications are required.
• Language Skills: Proficiency in English is preferred; additional languages are a plus.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
