Lead Engineer- Field Services

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Engineer – Field Services to oversee and execute onsite installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of medium voltage synchronous and induction motors, generators, excitation systems, AVR systems, and variable speed drives. The ideal candidate will provide expert technical guidance to customer representatives, ensure adherence to safety standards, and deliver high-quality service while maintaining strong project management and communication skills. This role requires extensive field experience, a commitment to safety, and the ability to travel frequently to customer sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation & Commissioning: Lead the onsite installation, commissioning, refurbishment, startup, and upgrading of medium voltage motors, generators, excitation systems, AVR systems, and variable speed drives, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and safety standards.
• Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: Perform routine preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance of rotating equipment.
• Technical Support & Training: Provide clear and concise technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives on installation, operation, calibration, repair, and maintenance procedures to enhance their operational efficiency.
• Documentation & Reporting: Prepare comprehensive technical reports, job status updates, customer reports, time sheets, and expense sheets in a timely and accurate manner. Maintain detailed records for future reference and compliance.
• Leadership & Supervision: Offer technical direction and leadership to skilled labor teams performing work at customer sites, ensuring adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and safety protocols.
• Safety & Compliance: Uphold a strong safety mindset, ensuring all executed work meets GE’s safety standards and regulatory requirements to protect personnel and equipment.
• Project Management: Manage multiple projects efficiently, coordinating resources, securing quotations, and procuring materials to meet customer expectations and project deadlines.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Electrical Engineering) from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 7 years of hands-on field service experience with medium voltage motors, generators, excitation systems, and commissioning of rotating equipment.
• Proven expertise in electrical testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of electrical rotating machines and drives systems.
• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 80% of the time, as required by project demands.
• Valid driver’s license and the legal right to work in KSA without company sponsorship or time restrictions.
