Role Overview
As the ERP Data Master Controller, you will serve as the sole accountable authority for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, consistency, and governance of all ERP master data across the organization. This critical role is pivotal in maintaining financial integrity, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and audit readiness, all while adhering to approved policies and internal controls. Your expertise will directly impact the reliability of financial reporting, operational processes, and strategic decision-making across the Group.
Key Responsibilities
The ERP Data Master Controller is responsible for the comprehensive governance and control of master data, including but not limited to:
- Financial Master Data: Chart of Accounts (CoA), financial dimensions, posting profiles, and intercompany master data.
- Customer and Vendor Management: Customer and vendor master data, including credit-related attributes and payment terms.
- Product and Inventory Data: Item masters, Bill of Materials (BOMs), formulations, and product hierarchies.
- Fixed Assets and Banking: Fixed asset master data, bank accounts, tax attributes, and regulatory compliance data.
Data Quality & Integrity
Ensuring the highest standards of data quality is a cornerstone of this role. You will:
- Conduct periodic data quality reviews, reconciliations, and validations to identify discrepancies and inconsistencies.
- Resolve duplicates, errors, and data integrity issues promptly and efficiently.
- Monitor and report on data quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions and preventive measures.
Change Management & Controls
Effective change management is essential to maintaining data integrity and compliance. In this capacity, you will:
- Manage and document master data change requests through approved workflows, ensuring all changes are supported by proper approvals and audit trails.
- Coordinate master data changes during critical periods, including month-end, year-end, and cut-off processes.
- Provide robust support for internal and external audit requests related to master data, ensuring transparency and compliance.
ERP & Business Coordination
As the central coordination point between business owners, Finance, and IT, you will:
- Translate business requirements into standardized ERP master data structures, ensuring alignment with operational and financial reporting needs.
- Support ERP enhancements, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and go-live readiness initiatives related to master data.
- Facilitate seamless communication and collaboration across departments to ensure data consistency and accuracy.
Compliance & Audit Readiness
Compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies is non-negotiable. You will:
- Ensure master data complies with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and internal governance frameworks.
- Support audits by providing comprehensive evidence of controls, approvals, and data integrity.
- Participate in risk assessments related to data integrity and system controls, proactively addressing potential vulnerabilities.
- Lead the remediation of audit findings to ensure continuous compliance and improvement.
Documentation & Continuous Improvement
To sustain long-term success, you will:
- Maintain up-to-date master data dictionaries, naming conventions, and process documentation to ensure clarity and consistency.
- Identify opportunities to enhance data quality, automation, and control effectiveness through innovative solutions and best practices.
- Recommend enhancements to governance frameworks as the ERP system matures, driving efficiency and scalability.
Qualifications & Requirements
To excel in this role, you must meet the following qualifications and possess the requisite experience:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in ERP environments, with a strong preference for candidates experienced in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (FO).
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of financial master data and internal controls, along with exposure to ERP implementations, data migration, or post-go-live stabilization.
- Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, analytical mindset, and the ability to enforce standards across cross-functional teams. Strong documentation and communication skills are essential.
