Key Responsibilities

As a Cost Estimation & Tendering Engineer at Arabco Contracting, you will play a pivotal role in the pre-construction phase by ensuring accurate and competitive tender submissions. Your responsibilities will include:

• Tender Document Review: Analyze tender documents, drawings, specifications, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) to ensure comprehensive understanding of project requirements.
• Cost Estimation: Prepare precise quantity take-offs and detailed cost estimates, considering both direct and indirect project costs to provide realistic pricing.
• Supplier & Subcontractor Evaluation: Obtain, evaluate, and negotiate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best value for materials and services.
• Tender Submission Preparation: Develop competitive tender submissions and pricing strategies that align with project objectives and market conditions.
• Risk Assessment: Identify potential project risks and recommend appropriate pricing allowances to mitigate financial exposure.
• Team Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams, including project managers, engineers, and procurement specialists, to ensure timely and accurate submission of tenders.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed records of cost estimates, tender submissions, and negotiations to support project execution and future reference.

Requirements

To excel in this role, you must meet the following qualifications and experience:

• Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in cost estimation and tendering within the construction industry, with a proven track record of leading estimation teams.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and project execution processes, along with expertise in interpreting BOQs, contracts, and tender documentation.
• Software Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to create complex spreadsheets, formulas, and cost models for accurate estimation.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Market Knowledge: Familiarity with the Saudi construction market is highly advantageous, enabling you to navigate local regulations, pricing trends, and industry practices.
