Field Services Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Services Engineer to join our team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional on-site service and maintenance activities to support our customers' operational needs. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining, repairing, and overhauling sold or existing products, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. Key Responsibilities

The Field Services Engineer will perform a wide range of on-site service activities, including but not limited to:

• Conducting runtime extensions, repairs, and inspection-related service tasks at customer sites;
• Performing on-site machining, non-destructive testing (NDT), blade repair, winding, critical welding, and generator diagnostics;
• Applying advanced technical knowledge to implement guidelines and strategies, leveraging prior experience and expertise;
• Demonstrating a deep understanding of key business drivers to align service activities with organizational goals;
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of service operations and contribute to broader departmental objectives;
• Exercising independent judgment within defined parameters to propose innovative solutions, while seeking guidance when necessary;
• Utilizing analytical thinking and technical skills to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues;
• Leveraging internal resources and networks to make informed decisions and drive efficient problem resolution;
• Providing informal mentorship and guidance to new team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.

  Qualifications and Skills

  To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Education: Advanced experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in a relevant technical field. Alternatively, a high school diploma combined with substantial hands-on experience may be considered.
  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in field service operations, including machining, NDT, welding, and diagnostic procedures.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities to interact effectively with customers, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and lead small teams. Capable of driving initiatives of moderate scope and impact while coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Problem-Solving: Proven analytical and organizational skills to identify, assess, and resolve technical challenges efficiently.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work autonomously within operational guidelines while seeking guidance when faced with complex or unfamiliar scenarios.
