Sr. Environmental Coordinator (Saudi Arabia)

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Environmental Coordinator to oversee and drive environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, and strategic planning for our gas operations in Saudi Arabia. In this pivotal role, you will play a key part in ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, company standards, and environmental management systems (EMS) while fostering a culture of sustainability across the organization. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing and implementing environmental strategies, monitoring performance, and leading continuous improvement efforts to align with both corporate and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Environmental Coordinator will be responsible for a wide range of critical functions, including:

• Regulatory Compliance & EMS Management: Ensure full compliance with local, regional, and international environmental regulations, as well as company-specific standards and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System requirements. Oversee the implementation and continual improvement of the EMS to enhance operational efficiency and sustainability performance.
• Strategic Planning & Sustainability Initiatives: Develop and execute comprehensive environmental strategic plans and sustainability roadmaps tailored to gas operations. Align these initiatives with corporate objectives to drive long-term environmental stewardship and operational excellence.
• Monitoring, Reporting & Audits: Coordinate environmental monitoring activities, data collection, and reporting to track performance against key metrics. Lead environmental audits, inspections, and corrective action plans to address non-compliance issues and mitigate risks proactively.
• Stakeholder Engagement & Awareness: Organize and conduct environmental awareness sessions, campaigns, and sustainability events to foster a culture of environmental responsibility among employees, contractors, and stakeholders. Promote best practices in sustainability and energy efficiency within the organization.
• Documentation & Permit Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date environmental documentation, permits, licenses, and records in compliance with regulatory and company requirements. Ensure timely renewal and adherence to all legal obligations.
• Data Analysis & Reporting: Utilize advanced tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, and AI-driven analytics to generate insightful reports, dashboards, and presentations. Analyze environmental data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and areas of risk.

Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following mandatory qualifications and experience:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or a related Engineering discipline from a recognized institution.
• Industry Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in the Oil & Gas sector, with a strong focus on gas operations and environmental management.
• Environmental Expertise: Proven track record in developing and implementing environmental strategic plans and sustainability roadmaps. Experience in conducting environmental awareness programs and events is essential.
• Certifications: Candidates must hold at least one of the following certifications:
  • ISO 14001 Lead Auditor
  • Radiation Safety Officer (RSO)
  • NEBOSH Diploma in Environmental Management
• Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001), Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, and AI tools for data analysis and reporting.
