Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Credit Controller to join our dynamic finance team. In this pivotal role, you will play a critical part in safeguarding the company’s financial health by effectively managing and collecting outstanding receivables, ensuring timely payments from clients, and fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, exceptional negotiation skills, and a proactive approach to resolving payment challenges. Proficiency in credit control processes, coupled with a customer-centric mindset, will be essential to drive successful collections and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounts Receivable Management: Oversee and manage outstanding receivables, prioritizing timely collections to optimize cash flow and minimize financial risk for the organization.
- Client Engagement and Negotiation: Proactively contact and visit clients to follow up on overdue payments, negotiate flexible payment plans, and resolve disputes with professionalism and tact.
- Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date account records, prepare weekly accounts receivable ageing reports, and generate insightful collection performance reports to track progress against targets.
- Credit Risk Assessment: Evaluate client creditworthiness, recommend risk mitigation strategies, and ensure adherence to internal credit policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with the Project Management Office (PMO) and internal departments to address payment challenges, streamline credit control processes, and enhance overall financial efficiency.
- Policy Development and Improvement: Contribute to the refinement of credit control policies and procedures, implementing best practices to strengthen the company’s financial resilience and operational effectiveness.
- Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze collection performance metrics, identifying trends and opportunities to improve cash collection outcomes and reduce delinquency rates.
Qualifications and Competencies
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 2–5 years of hands-on experience in credit control, collections, or accounts receivable, with a proven track record of achieving and surpassing cash collection targets.
- Client Relationship Management: Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, ensuring a customer-centric approach while upholding financial objectives.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in Arabic is mandatory, and a strong command of English is highly desirable to facilitate clear communication with diverse stakeholders.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, reporting, and financial modeling, is essential for accurate record-keeping and performance tracking.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data, identify payment trends, and resolve complex collection issues efficiently.
- Regulatory Knowledge: A solid understanding of financial processes, credit risk management, and compliance requirements to ensure adherence to legal and organizational standards.
