Role Overview: Hot Gas Path Repair Engineer
As a Hot Gas Path Repair Engineer within the Dammam Production team, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the capabilities of the Hot Gas Path Repair (HGPR) facility. This position is tailored to cultivate deep technical expertise in gas turbine component repair engineering, positioning you for future leadership roles within Siemens Energy. Your responsibilities will encompass both hands-on technical work and strategic process development, ensuring the facility operates at the highest standards of efficiency and quality.
Your Impact and Responsibilities
In this role, you will contribute directly to Siemens Energy’s mission of energizing society and fostering a sustainable energy future. Your responsibilities will include:
- Repair Process Engineering & Support:
- Assist senior engineers in developing, documenting, and qualifying repair procedures for critical hot gas path components, such as turbine blades and vanes
- Support the technical evaluation of incoming components to determine the most effective repair scope
- Apply engineering fundamentals to repair technologies, including welding, brazing, coating, and machining, under expert supervision
- Collaborate closely with workshop technicians to execute repairs and troubleshoot technical challenges
- Quality, Documentation & Continuous Improvement:
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including work instructions, process specifications, and repair reports
- Participate in root cause analysis investigations and support the implementation of corrective actions
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing safety, quality, efficiency, and cost optimization
- Support data collection and analysis related to repair process performance indicators
Qualifications and Skills
To excel in this role, you will bring the following qualifications and attributes:
- A Master’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related engineering discipline
- Up to three years of relevant experience, ideally gained through internships, graduate programs, or early-career roles
- A minimum of three months of international exposure through study or work experience
- A strong theoretical foundation in engineering and manufacturing fundamentals
- High learning agility and the ability to thrive in a practical, workshop-oriented environment
- A proactive interest in developing into a future Subject Matter Expert (SME) or technical leader
