Role Overview
As an Instrumentation Engineer specializing in cataloguing, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the availability, accuracy, and efficiency of equipment and component data for critical infrastructure projects. Your responsibilities will involve conducting comprehensive reviews of SPDP (Spare Parts Data Package) documentation to verify compliance with established guidelines. This includes validating the completeness of data elements such as drawings, bills of materials, priced spare parts lists, and ISS (Instrumentation and Safety Systems) data sheets to facilitate timely procurement and maintenance activities.
Your expertise will be instrumental in identifying discrepancies within spare parts data packages, communicating with stakeholders to resolve missing information, and extracting relevant data from Aramco’s SAP system. You will catalog equipment in the SAP system, ensuring that all instrumentation—including control valves, actuators, heaters, PSD (Pressure Safety Devices), ESD (Emergency Shutdown Systems), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), flowmeters, gauges, PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers), and monitors—is accurately documented and readily accessible for operational and maintenance purposes.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Review and Validation: Perform thorough reviews of SPDP documentation to ensure all required data elements are present and compliant with guidelines. Identify and report discrepancies in spare parts data packages to relevant stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with cross-functional teams to gather missing information and resolve data-related queries, ensuring seamless procurement and maintenance processes.
- SAP System Management: Extract and input equipment data into Aramco’s SAP system, cataloging instrumentation and components with precision to support operational efficiency.
- Technical Documentation Interpretation: Competently read and interpret P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), bills of materials, dimensional drawings, cross-sectional drawings, and general arrangement drawings to ensure accurate cataloguing.
- Compliance with Standards: Apply knowledge of manufacturing standards such as ASME, JIS, ANSI, and SAMSS to validate equipment specifications and ensure adherence to industry regulations.
- Equipment Cataloguing: Maintain an organized and up-to-date catalog of instrumentation and spare parts, including control valves, actuators, heaters, PSD, ESD, SCADA, flowmeters, gauges, PLC, and monitors.
Qualifications and Skills
- Educational Background: A degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Communication Engineering is required.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Hands-on experience with the installation and repair of instrumentation, including pressure regulators, actuators, control valves, and transmitters.
- Strong ability to recognize and differentiate between various instrument spare parts.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and documentation, including P&IDs, bills of materials, and dimensional drawings.
- Familiarity with manufacturing standards such as ASME, JIS, ANSI, and SAMSS.
- Basic design experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Technological Competency: Proficient in using Windows-based applications, including Word and Excel, for data management and reporting.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English to effectively collaborate with global teams and stakeholders.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a relevant role within the instrumentation or engineering sector.
