Position Overview
The Dispatcher plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of our warehouse, overseeing internal activities, and optimizing productivity. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong coordination skills, and the ability to manage labor effectively to maintain smooth workflows. The Dispatcher will work closely with Storekeepers to ensure accurate stock allocation, efficient order preparation, and timely invoicing. Additionally, the role involves monitoring inventory, reporting discrepancies, and upholding stringent hygiene and safety standards in alignment with PepsiCo’s EHS Management System (MS). Key Responsibilities
- Shift Management: Take over the shift from the previous team, thoroughly reviewing all pending tasks and ensuring a smooth transition of responsibilities.
- Loading/Unloading Oversight: Supervise offloading and loading operations, accurately completing checklists and promptly reporting any discrepancies, such as incorrect stickers, missing cases, excess inventory, or empty pallets, to the Storekeeper.
- Labor Allocation: Assign tasks to warehouse laborers to maximize productivity and maintain efficient workflows.
- Inventory Control: Conduct daily physical counts of goods to reconcile inventory discrepancies and report findings to the Storekeeper. Ensure adherence to FEFO (First Expired, First Out) procedures by coordinating with forklift operators for proper storage and movement of goods.
- Hygiene and Safety Compliance: Follow and enforce hygiene protocols as outlined in the checklist, ensuring all warehouse operations meet PepsiCo’s stringent standards. Maintain equipment in optimal condition, ensuring proper usage and recording periodic maintenance activities.
- Shift Handover: Provide a detailed handover to the next shift, including pending tasks, special instructions, and any critical updates to maintain operational continuity.
- EHS Management System (MS): Implement, sustain, and participate in the continual improvement of the EHS MS within your area of responsibility. Ensure compliance with local legislations, PepsiCo’s GEHSMS, and relevant EHS standards. Identify and mitigate hazards and risks associated with warehouse activities to achieve EHS targets.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience: Minimum of two years in a supply chain role, with preference given to candidates with cross-functional experience in the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) industry. Additional experience in labor-intensive organizations is a plus.
- Education: High school certificate in any discipline.
- Core Competencies:
- A self-motivated individual with the ability to identify, initiate, and implement corrective actions to resolve operational challenges.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively coordinate with team members, Storekeepers, and laborers.
- Strong leadership and organizational abilities to manage and control labor across multiple functions.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to apply flexible thinking to address issues systematically.
- Proven planning and cross-functional understanding to optimize warehouse operations and support broader business objectives.
