Role Overview
As a Regional Technical Lead in Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR), you will serve as the primary technical authority and initial escalation point for complex cybersecurity incidents. Reporting to a Regional Head, this role is pivotal in maintaining 24/7 technical excellence and fostering cross-domain collaboration within the team. Your responsibilities will center on guiding the technical direction of DFIR operations, ensuring high-quality deliverables, and driving the professional development of team members. This position is designed for individuals who thrive in a purely technical career path, focusing exclusively on technical leadership without administrative or strategic management responsibilities. Your role is to be the ultimate technical authority, providing unparalleled expertise and mentorship while ensuring the team’s investigative and analytical capabilities remain at the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities
Normal DFIR Duties (24/7 Service)
- Provide continuous 24/7 technical support, including weekend availability, to address critical cybersecurity incidents.
- Conduct onsite engagements to assist clients during high-impact security events, ensuring rapid and effective response.
- Apply hands-on technical expertise in core forensics domains, including Windows, Linux, and memory forensics.
- Operate under the strategic guidance of a Regional Head to align technical efforts with organizational objectives.
Technical Lead Duties
Incident Management & Technical Direction
- Lead the technical direction during high-stakes cybersecurity incidents, ensuring decisive and informed actions.
- Act as the primary escalation point for both the team and clients, providing expert guidance in complex scenarios.
- Support the team in resolving intricate, non-discrete problems with a focus on analytical depth and rapid response.
- Make critical decisions with incomplete data, balancing thorough analysis with the urgency of incident resolution.
Research & Technological Foresight
- Engage in academic research and contribute to the publication of papers and articles to advance industry knowledge.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and modern methodologies, ensuring the team’s investigative techniques remain current.
- Maintain a deep understanding of cutting-edge tools, such as the integration of non-deterministic systems like Large Language Models (LLMs) into investigative workflows.
- Provide research advisory to guide the team’s investigative and academic initiatives, fostering innovation and expertise.
Mentorship & Team Growth
- Drive the skill development and professional growth of DFIR team members through targeted mentorship and training.
- Offer research advisory to enhance the team’s investigative capabilities and foster a culture of continuous learning.
- Provide guidance on effective communication of findings, supporting team members in presenting complex technical information clearly.
- Leverage your training and educational experience to elevate the team’s overall technical proficiency and readiness.
Quality Assurance & Technical Depth
- Maintain deep technical expertise in at least one specialized forensics-related field to ensure the highest standards of analysis.
- Support quality assurance initiatives by reviewing technical documents, editing content, and conducting thorough review evaluations.
- Utilize advanced technical writing skills to ensure reports are precise, comprehensive, and actionable for clients.
