Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Health Safety Environment (HSE) Officer to play a pivotal role in enhancing and sustaining our organization’s Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental (QHSE) Management System. This position is instrumental in ensuring full compliance with national and international HSE regulations, as well as ISO standards, while fostering a robust safety culture across all operational environments—including manufacturing facilities and office settings. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving HSE programs, conducting thorough inspections, and driving initiatives that promote operational excellence and risk mitigation.
Key Responsibilities
The HSE Officer will be tasked with a comprehensive range of duties designed to uphold the highest standards of workplace safety, environmental stewardship, and quality assurance. These responsibilities include:
- Program Development & Implementation: Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive HSE programs, policies, and procedures that align with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Workplace Inspections & Risk Management: Conduct regular workplace inspections and perform detailed risk assessments to identify potential hazards, ensuring all operations remain in strict compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Incident Investigation & Corrective Action: Lead thorough investigations into workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses, analyzing root causes and implementing effective corrective and preventive measures to prevent recurrence.
- Training & Awareness Initiatives: Deliver engaging HSE inductions, safety training sessions, and awareness programs to cultivate a proactive safety culture among employees at all levels of the organization.
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Track HSE performance metrics, compile data, and prepare comprehensive monthly management reports to provide insights into safety trends, compliance status, and areas for improvement.
- ISO Compliance & Auditing: Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 (Quality Management), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management) standards by maintaining robust management systems and coordinating both internal and external QHSE audits.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, and quality assurance, to enhance safety performance, drive process improvements, and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Customer & Quality Focus: Support customer satisfaction initiatives and lead quality improvement programs to ensure the organization delivers exceptional products and services while maintaining the highest safety and environmental standards.
Job Specifications
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications and experience requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a closely related field.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in a Health, Safety, and Environment role, such as HSE Officer, Safety Officer, or QA/HSE Officer.
- Certifications: Required: ISO 9001 Internal Auditor certification. Preferred: ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification.
- Industry Experience: Proven experience in manufacturing, industrial, engineering, or construction environments, with a strong understanding of operational safety challenges.
- Technical Competencies: Hands-on experience in incident investigations, risk assessments, and safety inspections, along with a proven track record in implementing and maintaining ISO management systems.
