Distributed Control System Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Distributed Control System (DCS) Engineer to join our team in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, supporting both onshore and offshore operations. This is a 12-month contract position, outsourced through AIQU/TASC, and requires an expert with deep technical proficiency in DeltaV DCS and DeltaV SIS systems. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation, maintenance, and optimization of critical industrial processes across various projects and facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• System Commissioning & Startup: Lead and execute commissioning and startup activities for DeltaV DCS and DeltaV SIS systems, ensuring compliance with operational and safety standards.
• Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and enhance system reliability. Conduct comprehensive loop checks to validate control loop integrity and performance.
• System Upgrades & Migrations: Plan, execute, and oversee system upgrades and migration projects, ensuring seamless transitions with minimal operational disruption. Provide post-project design support to validate system enhancements and address any residual issues.
• Operations & Plant Support: Offer expert technical support to plant operations teams, addressing system-related challenges and optimizing control strategies to improve efficiency and safety.
• Testing & Validation: Conduct rigorous testing activities, including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and performance validation, to ensure system readiness for deployment.

Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Technical Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with DeltaV DCS and DeltaV SIS systems, with recent practical exposure (within the last 3–4 years) being highly advantageous.
• Industrial Operations: Proven track record in supporting critical industrial operations, including oil and gas, petrochemical, or similar high-reliability environments.
• Project Execution: Demonstrated experience in commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, system upgrades, and migration projects, with a focus on delivering results under tight deadlines.
• Collaboration & Support: Ability to provide post-project design support and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, and maintenance personnel.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose complex system issues and implement effective solutions.

Location & Contract Details

This position is based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, with potential travel requirements to offshore and onshore facilities as needed. The contract duration is 12 months, with the opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects in a dynamic and challenging environment.
