Chief Process Engineer

Position Overview

As a Chief Process Engineer at Worley, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of energy, chemicals, and resources by leading process engineering strategy, design, and optimization for upstream and midstream oil facilities. You will oversee critical process deliverables, uphold industry standards, and drive efficiency improvements across project phases, from Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) to commissioning. Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement process engineering strategies that align with organizational goals and industry trends, ensuring sustainable and efficient operations for oil and gas facilities.
• Technical Oversight: Lead the preparation, review, and approval of essential process engineering deliverables, including Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), simulations, and technical calculations, while ensuring compliance with international codes, standards, and client requirements.
• Technical Authority: Serve as the primary technical authority on process design, safety protocols, and operational performance, providing expert guidance to multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders throughout project execution.
• Project Execution Support: Collaborate closely with project teams during FEED, detailed engineering, construction, and commissioning phases to ensure seamless integration of process engineering solutions and adherence to project timelines and budgets.
• Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for debottlenecking, efficiency improvements, and cost reductions, implementing innovative solutions to enhance facility performance and sustainability.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a liaison between operations, Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) teams, and other engineering disciplines to resolve complex technical challenges and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
• Team Development: Mentor and develop process engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you will possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Process Engineering is required; a Master’s degree is highly preferred.
• Professional Experience: Extensive hands-on experience in upstream and midstream oil and gas projects, with a proven track record in process engineering, design, and optimization.
• Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of process simulation tools, hydrocarbon processing systems, and industry design standards, with the ability to apply this expertise to complex engineering challenges.
• Leadership and Authority: Demonstrated leadership in large-scale projects, with the ability to provide technical direction and influence decision-making processes.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the capacity to manage stakeholders effectively at all levels of the organization.
