Position Overview

The Deputy Store Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the Store Manager to ensure the seamless operation of the Crate&Barrel store. This position is responsible for driving sales performance, managing and developing the store team, and maintaining operational excellence to achieve business objectives. The Deputy Store Manager will step into the Store Manager’s role during their absence, overseeing daily operations, workforce management, and adherence to brand and company standards. This role is instrumental in fostering a high-performance culture while ensuring an outstanding customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Customer Experience Leadership: Lead the store team in delivering exceptional customer service by adhering to company and brand customer experience standards. Stay attuned to individual customer needs and current market trends to create memorable shopping experiences.
• Team Development and Management: Drive the store team to consistently achieve the highest levels of customer service. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment through coaching, feedback, and professional development opportunities.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build and maintain strong professional relationships with support teams, including Marketing, Buying, and Planning. Provide regular, relevant feedback to enhance operational efficiency and sales performance.
• Sales and Business Growth: Proactively drive sales by identifying opportunities to exceed KPI targets. Take initiative to implement strategies that enhance business performance and profitability. Manage and execute sales promotions and brand activities in alignment with company guidelines.
• Operational Excellence: Ensure smooth store operations in the absence of the Store Manager, addressing any disruptions promptly and effectively. Implement and maintain compliance with company policies and guidelines to minimize stock loss and damage.
• Communication and Reporting: Maximize sales opportunities through clear and consistent communication with Buying and Planning departments. Provide timely updates and reports to the Store Manager to support strategic decision-making.

Qualifications and Experience

• A high school diploma or equivalent qualification is required.
• A qualification in a retail-related field is considered an advantage.
• Minimum of 4-5 years of industry experience, with a proven track record in retail management.
• Strong management skills, including team leadership, performance management, and operational planning.
