Cyber Security Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cyber Security Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this critical position, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our organization’s digital assets by developing, implementing, and maintaining robust cybersecurity frameworks. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of functions, including the establishment of cybersecurity standards and procedures, identity and access management, vulnerability and patch management, network monitoring, forensic investigations, incident response, security architecture design, and cyber threat intelligence analysis. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our information systems while mitigating risks and responding effectively to emerging threats.

Key Responsibilities

• Cybersecurity Standards and Procedures: Develop, maintain, and enforce comprehensive cybersecurity standards, policies, and procedures to align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. Ensure these frameworks are consistently applied across the organization.
• Assessments and Reviews: Conduct a variety of cybersecurity assessments, including Maturity Assessments, Risk Assessments, Compliance Assessments, Vulnerability Assessments, Social Engineering Assessments, and Penetration Testing. Analyze findings to identify vulnerabilities and recommend remediation strategies.
• Data Protection: Implement and oversee measures to protect data and information systems from unauthorized access, modification, or destruction. Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and organizational policies.
• Access Control: Monitor and control access to critical information assets, ensuring that only authorized personnel have the necessary permissions. Regularly review and audit access logs to detect and prevent unauthorized activities.
• Performance Metrics: Develop and track cybersecurity metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of security measures. Provide regular reports on the organization’s cybersecurity performance to senior management and stakeholders.
• Awareness Programs: Design and implement cybersecurity awareness programs to educate employees on best practices, potential threats, and their roles in maintaining a secure environment. Conduct training sessions to reinforce security protocols.
• Incident Management and Response: Lead incident management and response efforts, including investigation, forensic analysis, and mitigation. Develop and maintain incident response plans to ensure rapid and effective resolution of security incidents.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you must possess a strong academic background and relevant certifications, coupled with extensive hands-on experience in the cybersecurity field. The ideal candidate will have:

• Education: A Bachelor of Science degree in a technology-related field, such as Information Security, Information Technology, Computer & Information Systems, or Network Administration.
• Certifications: Professional certifications such as Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), CompTIA Security+, or GIAC Security Operations Certified (GSOC).
• Required Experience: A minimum of six years of professional experience in cybersecurity, with a proven track record in implementing and managing security programs.
• Preferred Skills: Additional certifications or experience in specialized areas of cybersecurity, such as cloud security, threat intelligence, or incident response, will be highly advantageous.
