Application Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Application Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing innovative software solutions to enhance and streamline our business operations. Your expertise will drive process optimization, application modernization, and strategic alignment with business objectives. Key Responsibilities

The Application Engineer will play a critical role in managing and optimizing our application portfolio while fostering a culture of technical excellence. Your responsibilities will include:

• Application Portfolio Management: Oversee the lifecycle of applications within the portfolio, including evaluation, enhancement, and retirement strategies to ensure alignment with business goals.
• Process Optimization & Redesign: Identify opportunities for application optimization, redesign, or process improvement to enhance efficiency, scalability, and user experience.
• Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate with business stakeholders, vendors, and IT leadership to develop a strategic vision for applications, including system roadmaps and business process frameworks that support long-term objectives.
• Project Leadership & Delivery: Lead application development projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project requirements, timelines, and deliverables while balancing competing constraints such as scope, quality, budget, and resources.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Address the diverse needs and expectations of internal and external stakeholders, facilitating effective communication and alignment throughout project execution.
• Technical Governance & Compliance: Implement and monitor standards for scope management, financial oversight, service level agreements (SLAs), and risk mitigation to ensure compliance, reduce costs, and maximize business impact.
• Outsourcing & Vendor Management: Manage application maintenance outsourcing agreements and software contracts, ensuring optimal performance, cost efficiency, and adherence to contractual obligations.
• System Integration Expertise: Demonstrate deep hands-on experience with systems integrations, leveraging tools and technologies to create seamless, scalable, and secure solutions.
• User Training & Support: Facilitate end-user training programs to ensure smooth adoption and utilization of applications, enhancing productivity and user satisfaction.

Qualifications & Requirements

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications and possess the necessary technical and professional competencies:

• Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
• Professional Certifications: Certification in any of the following is highly desirable: Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Project Management Professional (PMP), ITIL Foundation, or COBIT, or equivalent credentials.
• Experience: Minimum of five years of progressive experience in a similar role, with a proven track record in application development, project management, and technical leadership.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience with project management principles and software management methodologies, including database management and PL/SQL (Oracle proficiency is a plus).
• Integration & Cloud Expertise: Familiarity with integration tools and technologies such as JSON, as well as experience with SaaS and cloud-based services to support scalable and flexible application architectures.
