Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Winder-2 to join our dynamic team, specializing in the rewinding and repair of generator rotors and stators. This critical role demands precision, technical expertise, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of generator windings, mechanical assembly, and electrical testing, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of our generators. Key Responsibilities
- Rewinding and Repair Operations: Execute the removal of old windings from generator rotors or stators, followed by precise rewinding and repair of generator windings and insulation systems. This includes performing standard electrical testing during rewinding activities to ensure compliance with technical specifications.
- Inspection and Testing: Conduct thorough inspections of hardware, consumables, and final visual checks of rotors and stators. Perform comprehensive electrical testing of generators to validate performance and reliability.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and protocols for all rewinding and repair activities, ensuring accurate record-keeping and compliance with industry standards.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and inspect tools, instruments, and components in the service workshop, adhering to GE’s Environmental, Health & Safety, and Ethical Compliance standards. Conduct periodic inspections to ensure operational readiness.
- Collaboration and Support: Provide support to the spin pit team as needed and assist in additional tasks assigned by superiors. Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a collaborative work environment.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all work activities are conducted in strict adherence to GE’s Environmental, Health & Safety, and Ethical Compliance policies, prioritizing the well-being of the team and the integrity of the equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Technical Proficiency: Proven experience in rewinding and repair work, following technical instructions and guidance from the Lead Winder. Ability to interpret windings and mechanical assembly drawings with accuracy.
- Industry Experience: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with the winding of turbogenerators exceeding 25 MW. Familiarity with manual winding processes for turbo generators and a solid understanding of winding techniques.
- Production Environment: Demonstrated experience working in a production setting, with a sound knowledge of winding processes and the operation of induction heating machines.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in dimensional measurements and mechanical assembly activities related to generators. Competency in using common IT office tools for documentation and reporting.
