We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated DevOps Engineer to join our team in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, working on-site to support our clients’ digital transformation initiatives.

Position Overview

As a DevOps Engineer at EPAM, you will play a pivotal role in collaborating with customer infrastructure teams to prepare, deploy, and troubleshoot solutions within on-site environments. Your responsibilities will include ensuring infrastructure readiness, managing deployments on containerized platforms such as OpenShift, and adhering to best practices in security, scalability, and reliability. This role is critical to the successful delivery of high-quality solutions for our client engagements, requiring a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and effective communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with customer infrastructure teams to validate and prepare environments prior to deployments, ensuring all prerequisites are met for seamless execution.
• Deploy, configure, and maintain company solutions on client infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and alignment with business objectives.
• Troubleshoot performance, deployment, and infrastructure issues across various environments, providing timely and effective resolutions to minimize downtime.
• Manage and support containerized deployments, with a focus on maintaining environments running on OpenShift, including installation and operational tasks.
• Work in tandem with development and support teams to resolve technical issues efficiently, fostering a collaborative and solution-oriented approach.
• Perform minor modifications and troubleshoot Python code as required, demonstrating adaptability and technical proficiency in scripting and automation.
• Ensure all deployments adhere to best practices in security and performance, implementing robust measures to safeguard systems and data.
• Document deployment processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps to maintain transparency and facilitate knowledge sharing across teams.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Proven hands-on experience in DevOps within customer-facing or production environments, demonstrating a track record of delivering reliable and scalable solutions.
• Strong knowledge of containerization technologies, including practical experience with Docker or similar platforms for building and managing containerized applications.
• Hands-on experience with OpenShift, including installation, configuration, and operational management, to support enterprise-grade container orchestration.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation tools, enabling efficient and repeatable software delivery processes.
• Ability to read, understand, and make minor modifications to Python code, enhancing deployment scripts and automation workflows.
• Experience managing Linux-based environments, including troubleshooting, performance optimization, and system administration.
• Solid understanding of networking, storage, and fundamental cloud or on-premises infrastructure concepts, ensuring comprehensive support for diverse IT environments.
• Fluent English communication skills at a B2 level or higher, enabling effective collaboration with global teams and clients.
• Academic degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, providing a strong foundation in technical principles and practices.
• Valid Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) certificate with an IT-related discipline, as required by local regulations.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Exposure to the Kubernetes ecosystem and modern container orchestration tools, enhancing your ability to manage complex containerized environments.
• Experience with configuration management and automation tools, such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef, to streamline infrastructure provisioning and management.
• Knowledge of monitoring solutions, such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Nagios, to proactively identify and resolve infrastructure issues.
• Troubleshooting expertise in network and infrastructure domains, ensuring robust and resilient IT operations.

Work Environment and Logistics

The standard working hours for full-time roles at EPAM in Saudi Arabia are from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, including a one-hour unpaid lunch break. Flexibility in working hours may be accommodated based on client requirements and operational needs, ensuring a balanced and productive work environment.
