QC Inspector

Position Overview

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Quality Control (QC) Inspector to join our team, where precision, accountability, and continuous improvement are paramount. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality across all stages of gas turbine component manufacturing, from in-process inspections to final packaging. Your expertise will directly contribute to maintaining compliance with engineering specifications, quality plans, and industry regulations while driving operational excellence through Lean methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Quality Inspection Execution: Perform in-depth quality inspections on gas turbine components, including in-process, final, and packing inspections, in strict adherence to approved work instructions, quality plans, and engineering requirements.
• Documentation and Reporting: Review, verify, and ensure the completeness and accuracy of final inspection reports, ensuring they meet all quality and regulatory standards before product release.
• Issue Escalation and Resolution: Proactively identify and escalate quality concerns, initiate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) when necessary, and support root cause analysis (RCA) to address recurring or critical quality issues.
• Process Compliance and Discipline: Uphold rigorous inspection standards, ensure adherence to Standard Work and Standard Work Combination Sheets, and maintain process discipline to optimize line performance and efficiency.
• Lean and Continuous Improvement: Champion Lean principles by identifying waste reduction opportunities, supporting standard work improvements, and contributing to problem-solving initiatives that enhance safety, quality, and operational flow.
• Tool and Equipment Proficiency: Utilize precision inspection tools, gauges, and measuring devices to accurately assess component quality, ensuring all measurements align with technical specifications and engineering drawings.
• 5S and Workplace Organization: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with 5S standards, fostering a culture of efficiency and accountability.
• Team Collaboration and Support: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to improve line performance, operational efficiency, and overall shop productivity while supporting takt time and cycle time objectives.
• System Utilization: Operate and interface with shop floor systems such as ELM, SmartShop, and MyAndon to document inspection results, track quality metrics, and facilitate real-time communication.
• Policy and Procedure Adherence: Strictly comply with company quality policies, safety protocols, and standard work procedures to ensure a secure and compliant manufacturing environment.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you must possess the following:

• A diploma or technical college degree in a relevant field, or equivalent hands-on experience in quality inspection.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in welding quality inspection, with a strong understanding of quality control methodologies and industry standards.
• Preferred candidates will have 2+ years of experience working with gas turbine components or precision aerospace/industrial parts, along with a Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) license.
• Demonstrated proficiency in interpreting technical documentation, engineering drawings, and quality specifications.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Experience with Lean principles, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives is highly desirable.
