Production Planning Officer

Key Responsibilities

As a Production Planning Officer, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing forecasting methodologies to ensure efficient material inventory management. Your expertise will be instrumental in analyzing critical data, including sales history per SKU, sales office, and sales channel, to enhance the accuracy of forecast reviews. You will be responsible for preparing, monitoring, and reporting inventory performance indicators while contributing to the development, maintenance, and improvement of updated Master Production Schedules (MPS) and weekly production schedules.

Collaboration and Operational Excellence

This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Finished Goods Warehouse, and Distribution, to ensure seamless supply chain operations. You will manage sales orders, back orders, upcoming orders, and stock transfers to guarantee the timely fulfillment of finished goods (FG) items across all sales channels. Additionally, you will work closely with Production, Purchasing, Raw Material Warehouse, and Raw Material Planning functions to maintain uninterrupted production aligned with issued schedules. Your proactive approach in monitoring production plan execution and resolving potential issues will be vital to sustaining operational continuity.

Problem-Solving and Process Improvement

You will identify production challenges, conduct root cause analyses, and propose actionable solutions to mitigate disruptions. Monitoring material levels and recommending liquidation strategies for slow-moving materials will be part of your responsibilities, alongside managing phasing-in and phasing-out projects to minimize obsolete stock and reduce business liabilities. Your commitment to maintaining accurate documentation and procedures will ensure that material needs are consistently met in alignment with organizational standards.

Compliance and Continuous Improvement

Adherence to departmental policies, standard operating procedures, and safety protocols is essential to maintaining a controlled and consistent workflow. You will contribute to identifying opportunities for continuous improvement by leveraging international best practices to enhance business processes, reduce costs, and boost productivity. Your role will also involve executing all assigned tasks in a manner that prioritizes safety and environmental responsibility.

• Conduct and refine forecasting activities to maintain optimal material inventory levels.
• Analyze sales data (SKU, sales office, sales channel) to enhance forecast accuracy.
• Prepare, monitor, and report inventory performance indicators.
• Develop, maintain, and improve Master Production Schedules (MPS) and weekly production schedules.
• Collaborate with Sales, Warehouse, and Distribution teams to ensure timely fulfillment of sales orders.
• Work with Production, Purchasing, and Raw Material teams to sustain production continuity.
• Monitor production execution, resolve issues, and escalate problems with root cause analysis and solutions.
• Recommend liquidation plans for slow-moving materials and manage phasing-in/out projects.
• Minimize obsolete stock and reduce business liabilities through proactive inventory management.
• Maintain accurate documentation and procedures for production planning processes.
• Ensure compliance with departmental policies, SOPs, and safety protocols.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in systems, processes, and productivity.
• Execute duties in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the direct supervisor or manager.
