Inspection Engineer
الوصف الوظيفي
Position Overview
We are seeking a meticulous and technically proficient Inspection Engineer to join our team, where your expertise will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and compliance of our gas turbine components. In this position, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive inspections throughout the repair process—from incoming inspection to in-process and final inspection—to verify adherence to stringent quality standards, regulatory requirements, and operational specifications. Your role will not only safeguard the integrity of our products but also contribute to continuous improvement in our manufacturing and repair operations.
Key Responsibilities
The Inspection Engineer will be tasked with a range of critical duties, including:
- Quality Assurance: Perform thorough incoming and final inspections on gas turbine components to identify any nonconformances, defects, or deviations from established standards, ensuring that all parts meet or exceed safety and performance criteria.
- Technical Evaluation: Interpret, measure, and evaluate inspection results in alignment with applicable industry codes, standards, and specifications, including those set by regulatory bodies and internal quality management systems.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed technical reports that document job conditions, defects encountered during operations, and corrective actions taken. These reports will serve as a vital reference for process improvements and compliance audits.
- Compliance and Safety Leadership: Uphold and promote all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies, quality protocols, and compliance measures on the shop floor. Act as a role model by demonstrating a commitment to safety and quality in every task performed.
- Process Adherence: Strictly adhere to GEMTEC’s policies and procedures, ensuring that all inspection activities are conducted in accordance with the company’s quality management system (QMS) and work instructions.
Qualifications and Skills
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Education: A technical diploma in a related engineering or technical field, supplemented by relevant work experience in quality inspection or manufacturing operations.
- Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated knowledge of EHS principles, quality control methodologies, and shop-floor computer systems. Familiarity with measuring instruments such as calipers, dial indicators, and other precision tools is essential.
- Interpretive Skills: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, Repair Evaluation Instructions (REIs), and technical documents to accurately assess component conditions and defects.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to draft clear, concise technical reports and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Software Competency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with preferred knowledge of SAP for data entry and reporting purposes.
Desired Experience
While the role is open to candidates with foundational technical qualifications, prior experience in quality inspection—particularly within the aerospace, power generation, or industrial manufacturing sectors—will be highly advantageous. Ideal candidates will possess:
- At least two years of hands-on experience in quality inspection, with a focus on gas turbine components or similar high-precision equipment.
- A track record of identifying and resolving defects while maintaining strict adherence to safety and quality protocols.
- Experience in writing detailed technical reports and communicating findings to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Work Environment and Expectations
The Inspection Engineer will operate in a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing environment, where attention to detail and a commitment to excellence are paramount. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, the ability to work independently, and a dedication to continuous learning. Candidates must be prepared to lead by example, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and compliance across the shop floor.
