Position Overview

Our client, a distinguished and rapidly expanding building contractor based in Saudi Arabia, is actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Contract Administrator / Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic commercial team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting Operations & Maintenance (O&M) projects, as well as Facilities Management initiatives, ensuring seamless project execution and adherence to commercial and contractual obligations. Key Responsibilities

The Contract Administrator / Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for the following core duties:

  • Contract Administration: Oversee and manage contracts throughout their lifecycle within O&M and Facilities Management projects, ensuring strict compliance with contractual terms, conditions, and legal requirements.
  • Contractual Guidance: Provide expert contractual advice and support to project teams, senior management, and stakeholders to facilitate informed decision-making and mitigate potential risks.
  • Documentation Management: Prepare, review, and manage all contractual correspondence, including claims, variations, and amendments, with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify, assess, and manage commercial risks to protect the organization’s interests and ensure the financial viability of projects.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers, and legal advisors, to align contractual obligations with project deliverables and operational requirements.
  • Cost Control: Monitor and control project costs, ensuring alignment with budgetary constraints and contractual agreements while optimizing value for money.

Qualifications and Experience

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying is mandatory. No alternative qualifications will be considered.
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of five years of post-graduation experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a proven track record in contract administration and commercial management.
  • Industry Specialization: Demonstrated experience in Operations & Maintenance, refurbishment, or Facilities Management contracts, with a deep understanding of the unique challenges and requirements of these sectors.
  • Contractual Knowledge: Strong familiarity with standard forms of contract, including but not limited to FIDIC, NEC, JCT, or other recognized contractual frameworks.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Preferred Background: Candidates who have studied or gained professional experience in the United Kingdom, Ireland, or South Africa are highly preferred, given their exposure to robust contractual and commercial practices.
