Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end accounting cycle, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining robust internal controls. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a critical part in driving operational excellence, statutory compliance, and the financial integrity of our organization. Key Responsibilities
The Senior Accountant will be entrusted with a diverse range of responsibilities, including:
Financial Accounting & Month-End Close
- Execute comprehensive month-end close activities, including the preparation and posting of journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and adjustments to ensure the general ledger and trial balance are maintained with precision.
- Conduct thorough monthly balance sheet reconciliations for critical accounts such as bank, intercompany, work-in-progress (WIP), accounts payable (AP), and accruals to guarantee accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare and deliver monthly financial reports and reporting packages to Group/HQ, ensuring timely and accurate communication of financial performance.
- Uphold strict adherence to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), accounting policies, and internal control frameworks to safeguard the organization’s financial integrity.
Billing & Accounts Receivable
- Review and validate customer invoices to ensure timely billing in accordance with contractual obligations and company standards.
- Support collection activities by monitoring outstanding receivables and collaborating with relevant teams to address aged accounts.
- Analyze monthly accounts receivable (AR) ageing reports and reconciliations to identify trends and mitigate potential risks.
Accounts Payable
- Oversee the review of supplier, subcontractor, and intercompany invoices processed by the Shared Service Centre, ensuring accuracy in coding, documentation, and compliance with internal policies.
- Prepare reconciliations for unprocessed invoices and resolve discrepancies to maintain the integrity of the accounts payable ledger.
- Facilitate payment runs and conduct supplier account reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and vendor satisfaction.
- Act as a liaison between the Shared Service Centre and Middle East (ME) teams to resolve outstanding items and streamline processes.
Treasury & Cash Management
- Perform detailed bank reconciliations and promptly resolve variances to ensure the accuracy of cash records.
- Support cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning initiatives to optimize financial resources.
- Maintain and update records for bank guarantees and related documentation to ensure compliance with banking and regulatory requirements.
Tax & Compliance
- Prepare Value-Added Tax (VAT) workings and support the filing of VAT returns in accordance with statutory requirements.
- Calculate and file Withholding Tax (WHT) obligations to ensure compliance with local tax regulations.
- Ensure adherence to statutory, tax, and corporate reporting requirements, including In-Kingdom Total Value Add (IKTVA) and local content regulations.
Reporting, Audit & Controls
- Develop and present monthly management reports, including supporting schedules, to provide actionable insights into financial performance.
- Support statutory, internal, and external audits by maintaining audit-ready financial records, documentation, and processes.
- Ensure the implementation and adherence to internal controls and company policies to mitigate financial risks and enhance operational efficiency.
Fixed Assets & Budgeting
- Maintain comprehensive fixed asset registers, including capital expenditure (CAPEX) accounting and depreciation schedules to reflect accurate asset valuation.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis initiatives to align financial planning with organizational objectives.
Qualifications & Experience
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Educational Background
- A professional degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. Qualifications such as CA (Chartered Accountant), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), or a Master’s in Finance are highly preferred.
Professional Experience
- Applicants with up to five years of progressive accounting experience are encouraged to apply. Relevant experience in financial reporting, internal controls, and statutory compliance is essential.
Technical & Soft Skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively engage with internal stakeholders, external partners, and cross-functional teams in a multicultural environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with accounting software, particularly Dynamics 365 (D365), are mandatory.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.
