Data Developer

About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned Data Developer to design, develop, and enhance enterprise-grade data platforms, data warehouses, analytics solutions, and business intelligence applications. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in data engineering, database development, reporting, cloud data platforms, and AI-driven analytics to empower enterprise decision-making and accelerate digital transformation initiatives. This role requires a blend of technical proficiency, strategic thinking, and collaborative problem-solving to deliver robust, scalable, and high-performance data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

As a Data Developer, you will be responsible for the following core functions:

• Data Platform Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines, enterprise data solutions, and cloud-based data architectures to support organizational needs.
• Data Warehousing & Modeling: Build and optimize data warehouses, data marts, and analytical data models to enable efficient data storage, retrieval, and analysis.
• Business Intelligence & Reporting: Develop interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools like Power BI or Tableau to provide actionable insights to business stakeholders.
• Database Development & Optimization: Design, optimize, and maintain relational and cloud-based databases, including PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, or similar platforms, to ensure high performance and reliability.
• ETL/ELT & Data Integration: Implement and manage ETL/ELT processes, data integration workflows, and data transformation pipelines to ensure seamless data flow across systems.
• Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with business analysts, data engineers, architects, and application teams to deliver data-driven solutions that align with business objectives.
• Data Quality & Governance: Ensure data quality, security, governance, and compliance across enterprise platforms while adhering to best practices in data management.
• Performance Optimization: Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance database performance, reporting solutions, and data processing workflows to meet evolving business demands.
• Documentation & Best Practices: Prepare comprehensive technical documentation and implement enterprise data management best practices to ensure consistency and scalability.

Required Skills & Qualifications

To excel in this role, you must possess the following technical competencies:

• Cloud Data Warehousing: Hands-on experience with Snowflake or comparable cloud data warehouse platforms.
• Business Intelligence Tools: Proficiency in Power BI or Tableau for creating dynamic dashboards and reports.
• Database Management: Strong expertise in PostgreSQL or Microsoft SQL Server, including SQL query optimization and database design.
• Caching Technologies: Experience with Redis or similar in-memory caching solutions to enhance data retrieval speeds.
• Advanced Analytics & AI: Familiarity with Dataiku DSS or Vertex AI for developing AI-enabled analytics and data science workflows.
• ETL/ELT Development: Proven experience in designing and implementing enterprise-grade ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration solutions.
• Data Modeling & Warehousing: Deep understanding of data modeling, data warehousing principles, and analytics concepts.

Preferred Skills & Experience

While not mandatory, the following skills and experiences will enhance your candidacy:

• Cloud Platforms: Experience with Azure Synapse, Google BigQuery, or Amazon Redshift for cloud-based data solutions.
• Big Data Technologies: Knowledge of Databricks or Apache Spark for large-scale data processing.
• Orchestration Tools: Familiarity with Apache Airflow, Azure Data Factory, or dbt for workflow automation and data transformation.
• Programming & Automation: Proficiency in Python for data engineering tasks, automation, and scripting.
• DevOps & Version Control: Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices to streamline development and deployment processes.
• Data Governance: Understanding of data governance frameworks, metadata management, and data quality assurance methodologies.
• Cloud Platforms: Exposure to Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for deploying and managing data solutions.

Qualifications & Experience

To qualify for this role, you should meet the following criteria:

• Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years (with up to 12+ years preferred) in data engineering, database development, business intelligence, or enterprise data platform development.
• Preferred Experience: Prior involvement in designing enterprise data warehouse architectures, cloud-based data modernization projects, or digital transformation initiatives.
