Position Overview
Diyar Alwatan Trading & Contracting Company (DACO), a leading organization based in Dammam, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Planning Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the successful execution of our projects by developing, implementing, and monitoring comprehensive project plans. Your expertise in project management methodologies, coupled with your ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, will be instrumental in driving our projects to timely and budget-compliant completion.
Key Responsibilities
As a Project Planning Engineer at DACO, your core responsibilities will include:
- Project Scheduling and Planning: Develop detailed project schedules, including milestones, timelines, and resource allocation, using industry-standard tools such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project. Ensure alignment with project objectives and contractual requirements.
- Resource Management: Coordinate with procurement and operations teams to secure necessary resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, while optimizing their utilization to meet project demands.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify potential project risks, such as delays, cost overruns, or resource constraints, and propose proactive mitigation strategies to minimize their impact on project outcomes.
- Progress Monitoring and Reporting: Track project progress through regular updates, KPIs, and performance metrics. Generate insightful reports for stakeholders, highlighting deviations from the plan and recommending corrective actions.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between project teams, clients, and senior management to ensure clear and consistent communication regarding project status, challenges, and resolutions.
- Budget Adherence: Monitor project expenditures and ensure adherence to approved budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety standards.
- Compliance and Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and regulatory compliance records, in accordance with company and industry standards.
Qualifications and Experience
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in project planning and scheduling within the construction or engineering sector, preferably in a contracting or consulting environment.
- Proficiency in project management software, such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar tools, with a strong aptitude for data analysis and reporting.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and best practices in project planning and execution.
- Proficiency in both English and Arabic is advantageous, though not mandatory.
