POOL ATTENDANT

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Pool Attendant to join our team at Sheraton Hotels & Resorts in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining a pristine and inviting pool area while ensuring the safety and satisfaction of our guests. Your responsibilities will include cleaning and maintaining the pool deck, assisting guests, and responding to emergencies with professionalism and care. Key Responsibilities

The Pool Attendant will be responsible for a range of duties to uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and guest service. Your core responsibilities will include:

• Pool Area Maintenance: Regularly wash, mop, and clean the pool deck to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for guests. Inspect the area for hazards and address any issues promptly.
• Guest Engagement: Foster a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere by interacting with guests in a friendly, upbeat, and professional manner. Promote the facility’s rules and regulations to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
• Emergency Response: Monitor pool activities and respond swiftly and appropriately to emergencies in accordance with established procedures. Provide immediate assistance to injured guests and coordinate with emergency medical services when necessary.
• Guest Assistance: Anticipate and address guests’ needs, including providing towels, answering questions, and offering guidance on facility amenities. Assist individuals with disabilities to ensure they have a comfortable and accessible experience.
• Safety and Compliance: Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to management. Complete all required safety training and certifications, including CPR and First Aid. Adhere to company policies, maintain confidentiality, and protect company assets.
• Operational Duties: Obtain, fold, and stack towels according to company procedures. Enter and verify work-related information using computers or point-of-sale systems. Perform routine inspections of tools and equipment to identify defects.
• Physical Requirements: Move, lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Perform tasks requiring fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and the ability to navigate sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, and stooping.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

• Education: A high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
• Certifications: Current CPR and First Aid certifications are mandatory. Additional certifications or training required by local or state agencies must be obtained.
• Experience: While prior work experience is not required, a background in hospitality, customer service, or pool maintenance is beneficial.
• Soft Skills: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential. You should demonstrate a positive attitude, teamwork, and the ability to build rapport with guests and colleagues. Proficiency in reading and interpreting information from various formats is also required.
• Physical Demands: The role involves standing for extended periods, moving quickly to respond to guest needs, and performing physically demanding tasks. You must be able to work in varying weather conditions and maintain a professional appearance.
