Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Steward to join our team at the Sheraton property in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. In this essential role, you will play a critical part in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and operational efficiency within our Food and Beverage and Culinary departments. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, from ensuring the pristine condition of kitchen equipment and storage areas to managing waste disposal and supporting the overall workflow of the kitchen and dining services. Key Responsibilities

As a Steward, your duties will include, but not be limited to:

• Equipment and Tool Maintenance: Operate, maintain, and clean essential equipment such as dishwashing machines, handwashing stations, pot-washing stations, and waste compactors to ensure optimal functionality and hygiene.
• Sanitation and Cleanliness: Thoroughly wash and disinfect all kitchen surfaces, storage areas, tables, utensils, knives, and equipment. Utilize a three-compartment sink with appropriate detergents, rinse agents, and sanitizing chemicals to clean and sanitize dishes, glassware, and silverware.
• Inventory and Stock Management: Receive deliveries, properly store perishable goods, and assist in managing inventory levels to support kitchen operations.
• Waste Management: Empty and maintain trash bins, clean around waste disposal areas, and ensure recyclable materials are sorted and placed in designated recycling bins. Disassemble cardboard boxes and manage waste disposal efficiently.
• Dishwashing and Utensil Handling: Inspect, sort, and wash dishes, glassware, and silverware. Stack clean items on appropriate racks and spray them with hot water to remove any residual food particles. Ensure all items are properly stored in designated areas for easy access by kitchen staff.
• Safety and Compliance: Adhere strictly to all company policies, procedures, and safety protocols. Report any accidents, injuries, or hazardous conditions to management immediately. Complete all required safety training and certifications to maintain a secure working environment.
• Team Collaboration: Foster positive working relationships with colleagues and support the team in achieving shared goals. Communicate clearly and professionally with team members and supervisors to ensure seamless operations.
• Physical Demands: Perform tasks that require lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds (22.7 kg). Maintain the ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods, as well as reach overhead or below knee level, including bending, twisting, and pulling motions.
• Additional Duties: Undertake any other reasonable tasks as assigned by supervisors to support the efficient operation of the department.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:

• Education: No formal secondary education diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience: Prior work experience in a similar role is not mandatory, as full training will be provided.
• Supervisory Experience: This position does not require prior supervisory experience.
• Certifications: No specific certifications are required at the time of application.
