Job Overview
SLFE is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cyber Security Specialist to lead and supervise our cybersecurity initiatives. In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing security operations, responding to incidents, managing advanced security platforms, and ensuring robust compliance and risk mitigation strategies to safeguard our systems and sensitive data. Key Responsibilities
The Cyber Security Specialist will be entrusted with a diverse range of responsibilities, including:
- Security Monitoring and Incident Response: Proactively monitor security alerts across multiple platforms, analyze potential threats, and respond to cybersecurity incidents with precision. Conduct thorough root cause analysis to identify vulnerabilities and implement corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
- Platform and Tool Management: Oversee the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of security platforms and tools to ensure they operate at peak efficiency. This includes managing SIEM tools, security monitoring platforms, vulnerability scanning tools, and log analysis utilities.
- Compliance and Risk Mitigation: Support and lead compliance initiatives in alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to address vulnerabilities and reduce exposure to cyber threats.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with IT, engineering, and business teams to enhance the organization’s security posture. Provide expert guidance on security best practices, risk assessments, and the implementation of robust security controls.
- Threat Analysis and Vulnerability Management: Conduct in-depth threat analysis to identify emerging risks and proactively manage vulnerabilities through timely remediation and patch management. Ensure that security controls are aligned with industry standards such as ISO 27001 and other relevant frameworks.
Qualifications and Skills
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications and possess the necessary expertise:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications are highly desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity, with a proven track record in security operations, incident response, and threat management.
- Certifications: Preferred certifications include Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), CompTIA Security+, Microsoft SC-200 and SC-300, ISO 27001, Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
- Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity operations, including experience with Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Purview, SIEM tools, security monitoring platforms, vulnerability scanning tools, and log analysis utilities.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the capacity to collaborate effectively in both independent and team-oriented environments.
