Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Systems & Avionics Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this critical role, you will provide expert technical support for aircraft systems and avionics, ensuring operational safety, regulatory compliance, and continued airworthiness. Your responsibilities will encompass troubleshooting, defect assessment, reliability investigations, and compliance management of Airworthiness Directives (ADs) and Service Bulletins (SBs). You will collaborate closely with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Part-21 design organizations, and contracted maintenance providers to deliver high-quality engineering solutions. This position requires a strong technical background, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Engineering Support: Provide expert troubleshooting guidance, technical dispositions, and defect evaluations to support aircraft systems and avionics. Contribute to reliability investigations and the development of corrective actions to enhance operational performance and safety.
- Regulatory Compliance Management: Review, assess, and manage Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, and technical publications. Support compliance planning, tracking, and adherence to regulatory requirements to ensure full alignment with aviation authorities and industry standards.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Act as a liaison between OEMs, Part-21 design organizations, and contracted Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) providers. Coordinate on repairs, modifications, engineering orders, and technical matters related to aircraft systems and avionics to ensure seamless execution of engineering tasks.
- Aircraft Induction Support: Assist in aircraft induction activities by reviewing systems and avionics configurations, compliance status, and technical documentation. Ensure that all aircraft entering service meet regulatory and operational requirements.
- Documentation and Audit Support: Maintain accurate, traceable, and compliant engineering records, approvals, and documentation. Support internal and external audits by compiling and presenting evidence, addressing findings, and ensuring timely closure of compliance issues.
- Safety and Quality Assurance: Promote a culture of safety, quality, and human factors awareness in all engineering activities. Oversee contracted maintenance provider performance, monitor compliance with safety protocols, and ensure adherence to Air Arabia’s Document Management Manual (DMM) and Ground Maintenance Manual (GMM) policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Skills
To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and competencies:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering, or an equivalent field from a recognized institution.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of aircraft avionics and systems troubleshooting, with a deep understanding of operational impacts. Ability to interpret OEM manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical data to support informed decision-making.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Working knowledge of airworthiness requirements, including ADs, SBs, and compliance tracking methodologies. Familiarity with modification and repair approval processes, particularly within the Part-21 framework.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Proven ability to identify trends, analyze data, and contribute to reliability improvements and corrective action plans. Strong documentation skills to compile compliance evidence and support audit processes.
- Communication and Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with Maintenance Control Center (MCC) teams, maintenance personnel, and cross-functional stakeholders during time-critical operational events. Ability to manage competing priorities and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Safety and Compliance Mindset: A strong commitment to safety, quality, and human factors principles. Ability to promote adherence to Air Arabia’s DMM and GMM policies and procedures while ensuring full regulatory compliance.
- Technical Tools and Systems: Proficiency in maintenance information systems and engineering tracking tools to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency.
Work Experience
Candidates must have a minimum of 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in airline or MRO engineering support, with a focus on aircraft systems and avionics. Prior exposure to A320 family aircraft is highly desirable. Experience in AD/SB management, troubleshooting, and continued airworthiness processes is essential to succeed in this role.
