Overview

As the Women’s Academy Doctor at Al-Qadsiah Club, you will lead the medical strategy and delivery for our Women’s Academy, overseeing four elite squads. This is a unique opportunity to establish a modern, high-performance medical department from the ground up, ensuring the highest standards of player health, injury prevention, and medical governance. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of coaches, performance analysts, physiotherapists, and support staff to create an environment where athletes thrive, both on and off the field. Your role will be instrumental in setting new benchmarks for athlete care and long-term development within women’s football.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Medical Governance

• Lead the delivery of comprehensive medical services across all Women’s Academy training sessions and competitive matches.
• Develop and implement robust medical systems, policies, and governance frameworks to support a high-performance environment.
• Establish and uphold best practice medical standards that align with the club’s broader performance strategy and vision.

Performance and Player Health

• Oversee the diagnosis, management, rehabilitation, and safe return-to-play protocols for injured players.
• Conduct thorough player health screenings and continuous medical monitoring to ensure optimal physical condition.
• Provide expert clinical support to maximise player availability, performance, and long-term athletic development.

Player Wellbeing and Education

• Maintain precise and compliant medical records, adhering to all regulatory and ethical standards.
• Design and deliver educational initiatives focused on injury prevention, female athlete health, and holistic player wellbeing.
• Foster a proactive culture of care, prioritising injury prevention and the long-term health of our athletes.

Collaboration and Alignment

• Coordinate medical provision seamlessly across training sessions, matchdays, and off-field activities.
• Work in close partnership with coaching, performance, rehabilitation, and support staff to create a cohesive and effective multidisciplinary team.
• Ensure alignment with the Women’s First Team medical department to maintain a unified and consistent medical philosophy throughout the club.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements

• Saudi National with a Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent qualification).
• Licensed by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS).
• Proven experience in sports medicine or athlete care, with a strong understanding of the unique demands of elite sport.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to thrive in a high-performance, collaborative environment.
• In-depth knowledge of female athlete health and the specific medical considerations relevant to women’s football.

Desirable Qualifications

• A postgraduate qualification in Sports Medicine or a related field.
• Prior experience working within football or other elite sports environments.
• Experience supporting youth or academy football programmes, with a focus on athlete development.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement medical systems and governance processes in high-performance settings.
