Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Orthopedic Surgery Registrar to join our esteemed medical team at Najdi Care Clinics (NCC). In this pivotal role, you will play a critical part in diagnosing, treating, and managing a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and clinical excellence. As a Registrar, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive orthopedic services, including patient assessments, treatment planning, and ongoing medical management, while adhering to the mission, vision, and strategic objectives of NCC.
Key Responsibilities
The Orthopedic Surgery Registrar will be entrusted with a diverse array of clinical and administrative duties, including:
- Patient Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct thorough examinations of patients, taking detailed medical histories, and performing diagnostic tests to identify orthopedic conditions, injuries, or illnesses. Utilize evidence-based practices to formulate accurate diagnoses and develop tailored treatment plans.
- Treatment and Management: Prescribe medications, recommend therapeutic interventions, and order diagnostic investigations such as X-rays, MRIs, or CT scans. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care and optimal outcomes.
- Patient Education and Counseling: Educate patients and their families on their medical conditions, diagnostic procedures, treatment options, and preventive healthcare measures. Provide guidance on post-treatment care, rehabilitation, and lifestyle modifications to promote long-term health and well-being.
- Documentation and Compliance: Maintain meticulous and accurate patient records, ensuring compliance with NCC policies, CBAHI (Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions) standards, and MOH (Ministry of Health) regulations. Adhere to clinical and departmental structure standards, including attendance and fire safety requirements.
- Quality Improvement and Professional Development: Actively participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives, program evaluations, and clinical audits to enhance patient care standards. Contribute to the professional growth of junior staff through mentorship, training, and participation in educational activities such as rounds, conferences, lectures, and journal clubs.
- Interdepartmental Collaboration: Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other departments within NCC, local agencies, vendors, and external stakeholders. Participate in NCC committees and task forces to support organizational goals and initiatives.
- Specialty-Specific Tasks: Perform additional orthopedic-specific duties based on your training, experience, and clinical privileges as outlined by the Saudi Health Council. Stay abreast of advancements in orthopedic surgery and integrate evidence-based practices into patient care.
Work Environment and Schedule
The Orthopedic Surgery Registrar will operate in a fully indoor clinical setting, with a structured work schedule consisting of six working days and one designated day off per week. Working hours are aligned with an 8-hour net shift schedule, approved by the Head of Department, ensuring a balanced and sustainable work-life integration.
Qualifications and Requirements
To qualify for this esteemed position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery from a recognized university, complemented by a Master’s degree in Orthopedic Surgery from an accredited institution. Alternatively, a Fellowship with approval from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) is acceptable.
- Experience: A minimum of two years of clinical experience following the completion of a Master’s degree or eligibility to sit for the board examination in the specialty.
- Licensure: A valid SCFHS license as a Registrar in Orthopedic Surgery, ensuring compliance with Saudi health regulations.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in office and health information systems to facilitate efficient patient management and documentation.
- Language Skills: Fluency in both English and Arabic, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
