Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Government Relations Officer (GRO) to join our dynamic team based in Saudi Arabia. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the primary liaison between our organization and government authorities, ensuring seamless compliance with all regulatory requirements while facilitating critical administrative processes. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Saudi labor laws, government procedures, and digital portals, enabling them to efficiently manage government-related transactions and mitigate compliance risks. Key Responsibilities
The Government Relations Officer will be responsible for a wide range of critical functions, including:
- Visa and Work Permit Management: Oversee the processing, issuance, renewal, and cancellation of employee visas, work permits, and Iqama, as well as handling exit/re-entry visas and final exit procedures.
- Sponsorship Transfers: Coordinate and manage employee sponsorship transfers (Naqal Kafala) in accordance with Saudi regulations.
- License and Permit Renewals: Ensure timely renewal of company licenses, Commercial Registration (CR), municipal licenses, and other statutory permits to maintain uninterrupted operations.
- Government Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for government entities, including the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD - Jawazat), Ministry of Commerce, Municipalities, ZATCA, GOSI, and other relevant authorities.
- Portal Management: Utilize government portals such as Qiwa, Muqeem, Absher Business, GOSI, Mudad, and ZATCA to process and track official transactions efficiently.
- Documentation and Compliance: Monitor the validity of company and employee documents, prepare and submit official applications, and maintain accurate records of all government transactions and legal documentation.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with HR, Finance, and Operations teams to ensure seamless processing of government-related matters and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Risk Mitigation: Stay abreast of changes in legislation and government procedures to minimize compliance risks and prevent penalties or violations.
- Employee Support: Assist HR in onboarding processes, employee documentation, and ensuring full compliance with Saudi labor laws and regulations.
Qualifications and Skills
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Education: A Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience as a Government Relations Officer in Saudi Arabia, with a proven track record in managing government-related processes.
- Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of Saudi labor laws, government regulations, and proficiency in using government portals such as Qiwa, Muqeem, Absher Business, GOSI, Mudad, and ZATCA.
- Expertise: Strong understanding of visa processing, Iqama management, sponsorship transfers, and company licensing procedures.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to meeting deadlines.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in both Arabic and English, both written and spoken, is essential for effective communication with government authorities and internal stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
While not mandatory, the following qualifications will be considered advantageous:
- Prior experience in the oil & gas, industrial, or manufacturing sectors.
- Established relationships with key government authorities and agencies.
