GIS I&C Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and proactive GIS I&C Engineer to join our global team. In this critical position, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful installation, repair, and fault elimination of high-voltage GIS (Gas-Insulated Switchgear) systems across international projects. Your expertise will be instrumental in delivering high-quality solutions while adhering to stringent technical, safety, and project deadlines. As a representative of our organization, you will collaborate closely with clients, sub-suppliers, and internal teams to uphold our commitment to excellence, safety, and cost-efficiency. Your contributions will directly impact the reliability and performance of our high-voltage transmission and distribution systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation & Commissioning: Lead the installation, maintenance, and commissioning of GIS systems worldwide, ensuring all work is executed in accordance with technical specifications and industry standards.
• Project Execution & Coordination: Independently manage installation and maintenance activities while coordinating with sub-suppliers to ensure timely project delivery. Monitor progress and report on completed and pending tasks to the PG Project Manager.
• Technical Compliance & Safety: Ensure strict adherence to installation requirements, accident prevention measures, and guidelines for working on live system components. Uphold our Quality Assurance (QA) philosophy, considering site-specific conditions and regulatory standards.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate red-mark drawings and documentation to reflect any modifications or changes during installation. Issue non-conformance reports for damaged or missing equipment in collaboration with the PG Project Manager.
• Material Management: Inspect incoming materials for completeness and potential damage, coordinating with sub-suppliers to ensure proper handling and storage within established procedures.
• Testing & Validation: Supervise final installation and commissioning tests, ensuring all systems meet technical and safety criteria. Validate loop check activities and participate in site meetings as required by the PG-CH Project Manager.
• Regulatory & Procedural Adherence: Ensure compliance with all external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines, fostering a culture of integrity and accountability.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Project Manager to establish project status, resolve technical challenges, and support workforce planning to meet project milestones.

Your Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, you will bring a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and a commitment to safety and integrity. The ideal candidate will possess the following:

• A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 2-5 years of hands-on experience in GIS systems, with a strong preference for candidates familiar with SF6 gas handling and PGHV transmission & sub-transmission GIS products.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project for project planning and tracking.
• Fluency in spoken and written English, with the ability to communicate effectively in international and multicultural environments.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results under pressure.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
