Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for AMI deployment, maintenance, and enhancement to align with organizational goals and industry best practices.
• Team Management: Lead and mentor a high-performing team of engineers, technicians, and support staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• System Integration: Oversee the integration of AMI systems with existing utility infrastructure, ensuring compatibility, scalability, and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyze AMI system performance, identifying trends, diagnosing issues, and implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime and optimize efficiency.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, and executive leadership, to ensure alignment on AMI initiatives and deliverables.
• Budget and Resource Management: Manage financial and operational resources effectively, ensuring projects are delivered within budget and timelines while maintaining high standards of quality.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to local and international regulations, safety protocols, and industry standards governing AMI operations and data management.
• Innovation and Improvement: Drive continuous innovation by evaluating emerging technologies, assessing their potential impact, and recommending strategic investments to enhance AMI capabilities.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL, or AMI-specific certifications) are highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in AMI management, smart grid technologies, or utility operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial capacity.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of AMI systems, including smart meters, communication networks, data analytics, and cybersecurity protocols. Familiarity with SCADA, GIS, and ERP systems is a plus.
• Leadership and Communication: Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams, coupled with strong verbal and written communication abilities to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and decision-making under pressure.
• Project Management: Demonstrated expertise in project management methodologies, tools, and techniques to deliver projects on time and within scope.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is advantageous.
