Key Responsibilities

As a Production Manager at Hitachi Rail, your core responsibilities will include:

• Production Planning and Scheduling: Develop, implement, and monitor production schedules to meet project deadlines while optimizing resource allocation and minimizing downtime. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align production plans with business objectives and customer commitments.
• Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and motivate a high-performing production team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment. Empower team members through training, performance feedback, and career development opportunities to enhance productivity and engagement.
• Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure adherence to stringent quality standards, industry regulations, and company policies throughout the production lifecycle. • Safety and Risk Management: Prioritize workplace safety by enforcing strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols. • Stakeholder Collaboration: Serve as a liaison between production teams, engineering, procurement, logistics, and senior management to facilitate seamless communication and alignment. Provide regular updates on production progress, challenges, and opportunities to key stakeholders.
• Budget and Resource Management: Oversee production budgets, monitor expenditures, and allocate resources effectively to maximize operational efficiency. Collaborate with finance and procurement teams to secure cost-effective materials and equipment without compromising quality.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you will bring the following qualifications and experience to Hitachi Rail:

• A bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degrees or professional certifications in project management or lean manufacturing are advantageous.
• A minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in production management, preferably within the rail, automotive, aerospace, or heavy manufacturing industries.
• Proven leadership skills with a track record of successfully managing and developing high-performing teams in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with expertise in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
• Proficiency in production planning software, ERP systems, and data analytics tools to drive informed decision-making and operational efficiency.
• In-depth knowledge of industry standards, regulatory compliance, and best practices in production management.
