Position Overview
Hill International, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Special Airport System Engineer to join our dynamic team in Dammam. This critical role is designed for a seasoned professional who will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of specialized airport systems, ensuring operational excellence and compliance with international aviation standards. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in airport infrastructure, a proven track record in project leadership, and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- System Design and Development: Lead the conceptualization, design, and engineering of specialized airport systems, including but not limited to airside infrastructure, terminal operations, baggage handling, and communication networks. Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Project Leadership: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of airport system projects from inception to completion. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, contractors, and aviation authorities, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Technical Oversight: Provide expert guidance on technical specifications, system integrations, and performance evaluations. Identify and mitigate risks to ensure project timelines and budgets are met without compromising quality.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all airport systems adhere to local and international aviation regulations, safety protocols, and environmental standards. Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to maintain operational integrity.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a liaison between Hill International, government agencies, and airport stakeholders to facilitate clear communication, resolve technical challenges, and align project objectives with business goals.
- Innovation and Optimization: Drive continuous improvement by researching emerging technologies, evaluating system efficiencies, and implementing innovative solutions to enhance airport operations and passenger experience.
Qualifications and Experience
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Aviation Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., PMP, PE) is highly desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in airport system engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior or leadership position. Prior involvement in large-scale airport projects, particularly in the Middle East, is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in airport system design software (e.g., AutoCAD, BIM, GIS), familiarity with aviation regulations (ICAO, FAA), and experience with system integration and automation tools.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional leadership, problem-solving, and communication abilities. Strong analytical mindset with the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a high-pressure environment.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
